My parents were involved in conservative politics in Texas when JFK was murdered. They thought LBJ did it too.
I didn’t give it much thought at the time but years later when I read the bios on LBJ by Caro I began to realize what LBJ was really like. Caro did not accuse LBJ of the crime but he opened to door to his character and let you see for yourself.
Wrong on both. The story by LBJ's so-called mistress is full of holes, and Jackie didn't say LBJ did it.
It was solved in November 1963.

This photo always bothered me ... but there is another one I can’t locate right now that catches LBJ absolutely glowering at JFK during the inauguration!
My husband is a shooter/hunter, he visited the book depository. He said the shot at the approaching car would have been an even easier shot than the one that Oswald took.
He did more than enough damage without seeking another term!!!
He did more than enough damage without seeking another term!!!
But it's not the one he took, which is all that really matters.
A couple of things though. Shooting at the approaching car would be shooting at a moving target, and shooting over the heads of other people in the car. Shooting at the car moving directly away, like he did, nobody else was in front of his view of JFK, and it was almost like shooting a stationary target. The street curved away and goes downhill, so the car was moving almost directly away. No leading the target.
The other thing, I looked up Houston street out that window myself recently, last November, and at about the same time of day. I noticed in doing that I was looking into the sun. I've never heard anyone mention that.
