You see hoss I am a Southerner born and bred. And the movie is doing quite well in the Bible Belt.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-noah-friday-matinees-691984

In North America, Noah played to Aronofsky’s fans and upscale moviegoers on the one hand, and on the other, to Christian audiences, particularly in southern states. Noah is also doing sizeable business among Catholic Hispanics, and African-Americans. In general, the movie drew an equal number of females and males, while skewing older (54 percent of ticket buyers were over the age of 25).

In the context of BOTH the verses you posted from earlier in Genesis and the ones I gave later in Genesis ... it clearly means to “manage” according to what God told them.

The environment had two MAJOR CHANGES from the time of creation. One major change was to subject the entirety of creation to futility as a judgement at the entrance of sin into man’s world. No longer would it be sustained as it had before, but decay and degradation entered into creation.

The second major change was upon the earth, and it was a drastic degrading of the earth ... at which time the entire environment of the globe was degraded, by God, because of the evil ways of mankind upon the earth.

Thus, to even survive, God gave all animals for mankind to eat. Because of how SEVERELY God judged the earth, because of mankind’s sinful ways - mankind could no longer even survive without becoming meat-eaters.

THAT is how severely degraded our very environment and existence is - as a result of sin.

Well ... hoss ... it ain’t going well with the Southern Christians that I know. Perhaps you’re associating with those “Christians in name only” crowd.

There have always been these “Christians in name only” group in the South, because of the strength of Christianity in the South. That meant that those who didn’t truly believe, had to PRETEND TO BELIEVE or they would be ostracized.

You’re mixing with the wrong crowd - those who only give “lip-service” to God and His Word.

Then get on the right side of God ... :-) ... and not on the side of an atheist, liberal, leftist, green, enviro-whacko director.

What I see is you argue like my Teamster/UAW/Progressive relatives. When confronted in an argument you try to deflect and misdirect. In the interest of full disclosure I'm the “Blacksheep” of the family. I joined the military to get out of liberal-ville and later became a Conservative Christian. I'm an embarrassment to the family; when friends ask about me they say ran off to Louisiana to play piano in a New Orleans bordello.

I believe this movie's initial success is due to misinformed, hopeful, high expectations. People expected a Bible-based movie and ended up with a “Golden Compass.”

You didn't tell me, how do I get a job shilling for movies on conservative webpages and how much does it pay?

Not just in the South...

I’m from the most liberal northern city in the U.S. and I’ve got Catholic family who “support a woman’s right to choose” and vote straight Democrat.

That’s probably why I turned “Born Again,” pro-life, pro-gun, nondenominational Christian.

I didn’t go into the theatre expecting a literal interpretation of scripture. That’s why I liked it. I blasted Son of God because the liberals that made it were a who’s who of Hollywood elite. They had all the material they needed in the Bible to tell the story. They didn’t need to put words in Jesus’ mouth He never said and have him doing things He never did. The Gospel of John is the best Biblical story that has came out in years and that was because it taken 100% from scripture. This Noah movie is BASED on scripture and the director never said it was a literal presentation, unlike the liberal Hollywood couple that made Son of God, that all the protestants in the country seemed to go hog wild over.

I’ve lived many years in Oregon, which is among one of the most unchurched states in the USA. There are Christians there, but it’s not ingrained as part of the culture. You have to “stand” for what you believe, and many do.

But, in the South, the culture has been so that if you’re not a Christian - then you can actually be ostracized and shunned and looked down upon. It has been that way in the past, but it may be gradually changing now.

Businesses here are advertised as “Christian” and that’s supposed to help in advertising that business. Even in political offices that’s supposed to help. I saw a local race in Antlers, Oklahoma (where I have a few relatives) where one candidate advertised that they were Christian and had a Christian family and went to church (obviously as opposed to the other candidate). This was on their flyers, printed in black and white.

Now this shows you WHY there are a lot of “Christians in name only” in the South. They are “cultural Christians” — meaning if I’m conservative (politically) THEN “I’m a Christian by definition”!

You mean sort of like those protestants, especially the black ones, all over the South and the rest of the country, who go to church three or four times, staying all day on Saturday and Sunday, singing and shouting how much they love their Lord, all saying they believe in real marriage and not murdering their unborn, who voted overwhelmingly voted for Obummer?

Moral of the story. Hypocrites are in all faiths.

The atheist, liberal, leftist ‘green’ and enviro-whacko director said that his movie was the LEAST biblical ‘biblical movie’ EVER!

By his own words - he’s put his movie at the EXTREME of the EXTREME against the Bible.

He deserve no respect and no money for his EXTREME ANTAGONISM to God and to His Word!

>The rainbow was God’s seal on his promise.<

.
Wished that He had used anything but a rainbow to seal His promise.

The gay crowd can use it as a sign of God’s approval of their lifestyle.

Unfortunately, it’s the gay-crowd that co-opted it.

When I lived in Lake Oswego, Oregon, there was a fancy clothes store that many went to for their clothes (men’s). And it was good. It was in a shopping center, across the street from the one theater in town - the Lake Theater.

It was an “up and up” store, having good clothes and was frequented by many and they did a real good business. It was called “The Gay Blade”.

WELL ... when the homosexuals CO-OPTED the word “gay” ... that store saw its sales gradually sink, as people then started associating that name with a “homosexual clothing store”. Finally, they changed the name of the store - without much fanfare - to “The Blade” to overcome that wrong association.

THAT is what the homosexuals have done in our society, among other things.

“The atheist, liberal, leftist ‘green’ and enviro-whacko director said that his movie was the LEAST biblical ‘biblical movie’ EVER”

Then who is lying, the director or all the folks that are putting down a movie BASED on the story of Noah. The director said in interview after interview that it was the least biblical “biblical movie” ever. He told the truth.

That’s why I went to see it and thats why I enjoyed it. I never had any reservations or thoughts of it staying 100% according to scripture. I believed the director.

That’s what people need to understand.

You know ... if we were talking about 90% faithful or 80% faithful or maybe even 50% faithful to the Word of God, then maybe many could overlook a little artistic license. Even the revered “Ten Commandments” movie is not 100% faithful.

BUT ... when you got a director who states that it’s his intention to make the MOST UNBIBLICAL ‘biblical movie’ possible - EVER IN HISTORY - we’re not even in the ballpark of “artistic license”. We’re in the ballpark of Bible-hatred, God-hatred and Jesus-hatred - as this is an ESSENTIAL COMPONENT to the Salvation that God provides, that Jesus refers to in his coming again - and which the Bible tells us about.

The Bible - and that’s “God” - tells us to STAY AWAY from this kind of stuff to put in your mind - and instead to “renew your mind” through the Bible, God’s Word and the salvation that Jesus provides.

The only thing that this movie has in common with the Bible is that it shows water, a boat, a bunch of animals - uses some words like Noah and the others - but contains NOTHING of the whole “reason to be” for what God did.

With this atheist, liberal, leftist, ‘green’ and enviro-whacko director - the “reason to be” is the director’s agenda and not God’s agenda.

You need to quit supporting those liberal, leftist, atheist, ‘green’ and enviro-whacko types. AND ... we don’t do that on this forum, anyway.

Our friend still won’t tell me how he got a gig shilling a movie that perverts a Bible story on Conservative websites or even how much he’s getting paid.

Since I signed up a few months after him I’m really surprised he hasn’t called me “Newbie.” Isn’t that a common tactic?
