Producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey are new-age Christian mystics, Oprah lovers and elite Hollywood tripe; not worth an authentic Christian's time. It's not difficult to get some insight on these clowns. Just one of many articles out there to be found, if you use the right search terms, like "heretical."

More than opportunistic. Roma Downey and her hubby spliced it together from leftover footage from their mini-series.

It may deliver the right message, but high-end production it is not.

Yes. I don’t think it was actually the anti-Semitic slur, such as it was. I think they saw their chance to throw the guy they hated for making The Passion of the Christ into the dustbin. Plenty of lefties attack Israel and get away with it. And I won’t excuse Gibson for a drunken tantrum, but I think it was the leftie, Israel-hating Jews in Hollywood that he was probably cursing—not real Jews. Or maybe too drunk to be making sense.

“The Passion of the Christ” was Gibson’s masterpiece, despite the graphic depiction of violence, and despite what demons now drive him. As Pope John Paul II said, “It is as it was.”

“”Gibson bloodied the Jews by portraying them as such villains,” Foxman told The Wrap this week.”

Do these movies rightly name who it was that loudly insisted that Pilate put Jesus to death, despite his finding of “no fault in this man?”

>>the most sensitive, caring depiction of the story of Jesus that I have ever seen<<

Uhh...let’s see. “You Brood of Vipers”, whipping the money changers with a cord, separating people into two distinct categories (good fish/bad fish, sheep/goats, etc), and claiming he was THE ONLY way to the Father.

His message wasn’t a sensitive, flowery one. It was revolutionary and drastic, a scandal, as it should be.

Given this, and the support of Megachurches - I can rightly deduce that this is movie will be a pile of dung.

Can’t they at least pretend to find someone who appears to be from the region? The kid looks like an Ambercromby and Fitch model.

RE: The kid looks like an Ambercromby and Fitch model.

He’s a Portuguese actor. And oh yeah, he was a former model.

It’s a reedited version of the very bad mini-series of last year.

Turner Movie Classics in the past month in showing Oscar Nominated films had both “Quo Vadis” and “the Robe” on, I’m a sucker for a religious film, even the Bathrobe classics.

Son of God may not be “The Passion” or “The greatest story ever told” but hey, it may well evangelize all the same.

I did get to see some of the Bible series. I will rewatch it if I get a chance but it seems they also portrayed Acts, the Road to Damascus and the Apostle Paul and John sentenced to Pathos after the Romans tried to poison him to death. You usually don’t see that part of the Bible in movies, I enjoyed it.
