And they couldn't find a zoo that would take him, or it seems they didn't even try.

A British zoo offered to take him. People raised $680,000 to buy him. But this crap zoo insisted on killing this poor animal who had grown to trust them, had never known anything but a kind hand from them—so they could publicly dissect him for pseudoscientific reasons and then feed him to lions? This “zoo” should be closed for cruelty to animals.

eat it in a cage or eat it in the wilds of Africa, what's the difference, the giraffe is food!

The animal caretakers are the worst kind of euro slop. They said they could not sell it to any of the at least 3 offerers because they did not own the giraffe, they were just "governing" it.

But they apparently are allowed to kill what they "govern". Let the Danes take note - if you are "governed" you too can become a vessel of superfluous genes and become a science experiment for the public.

Meanwhile all the children who watched with their parents will likely consider practising on pets at home. Endorsement doesn't end when you leave the zoo in the minds of children.

For crying out loud folks.

The zoo had an extra giraffe.

Lions eat giraffes.

They slaughtered the giraffe and fed it to the lions.

Just as zoos do every day with other animals.

Just as slaughterhouses do every day.

Just as the butcher shop at your grocery store does every day.

And you and your children can watch through the window.

Just as farmers do every day.

With help from their children.

This has been done for generations.

And it is healthy.

Sheeesh.

Yeah, they could have neutered the giraffe.

Yeah, they could have sold the giraffe.

But there are a billion other pigs, cows, sheep, goats, and giraffes lined up to be slaughtered and eaten today, and tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that, from now until the end of flippin’ time. Are these animals somehow morally inferior to the giraffe, which is eaten daily by lions in the wild? And should we ransom them all?

This was unnecessary. Another zoo offered to take him. If they were worried about inbreeding, they could have neutered Marius. Just wasteful. Everything, everybody is throw away in this degraded society. Sick.
