Thanks for posting. I admit that I find much of the debate regarding GMOs, soy, corn syrup, etc. to be a bit histrionic; however, it is a topic I’ve been trying to watch more closely lately and with a bit less of, as you say, a “knee jerk” reaction than I may have had in the past.
I have learn so much with my health issues and what is going on most have been so program to shut down any voice that is contrary.
God not contrary he is the ultimate chemist and what others have done with our tax dollars as they were learning in school was how to use this knowledge against us years ago we had principle and this kind of behavior would not be tolerated from the opposition.
There are choke holds on so many areas of our minds it seems impossible when you wake up to warn others.
I hope some will take a second look and not think of gluttony when they see the word fat!
This is one of my favorites educators
if they have left our foods alone we would not have all these health issues.

But Paleo is not too bad it has a lot of good points
I changed the family diet over a decade ago to “real” food after long research. I make everything possible from scratch. Cakes are much tastier. ;) Eating real food, we eat less because we are better nourished. We are in great health, no meds though we are middle-aged. I grow the majority of the veggie part and can it myself. We buy locally-raised meats, dairy and eggs.
It is a choice. The family does not mind, especially when I start making strawberry jam in the summer. Food tastes like it did when I was a kid, good. There is a very large group of conservative women doing the same thing for their families, too. Those that can, share info on blogs.

Thanks for sharing it really does make a difference.
I love YouTube it really is a lot of fun watching others share how to make Bone Broth and fermented foods which is nature’s natural probiotic to build up and maintain the gut flora and a healthy immune system so when these hard hitting virus come around one is able shake them off quicker or avoid the altogether.
We are now learning that our God given foods maintain the switches to our health to help maintain those that need to be on and to keep those off like Cancer through a good mother nature diet.
When I want Carbs....I eat good FATS....With diabetic leanings in my family....carbs, real or not, are bad for me.
You are right today grains are not what we had years ago.
You see? If you believe these professional guessers you will tear yourself apart with their conflicting advice.
Live life with joy, and partake all that this world has to give.
Some folks live till their teens, and others last into their 100's. The difference has little rhyme or reason, so live everyday as if it's your last.
Dad lived into his 90's as a smoker and alcoholic. His best advice was, "Don't sweat the small stuff."
The idea that England was a hot bed of good, cheap fast food joints in the 1970s. Since I went to school there, on a budget, I can tell you this is an outright lie. And there were no McD’s at the time - if there were, they were few and far between. Sadly, the Lyons and ABC “coffee shops” were in long decline by the time I got there. If this is offpoint to you, so be it. I’m just a fan of truthiness in small and large details.
I’m not a health freak although I enjoying reading the posts from health freaks. Not that I think you are one. And as a good conservative, I believe that I can make my own decisions about what I eat and what restaurants I go to. As another freeper said, McD’s doesn’t jump up and stick a hamburger in one’s mouth.
You know, sometimes these places offered delicious food! I used to walk around London looking for these kinds of places. The fish & chips often had this blue or purple sign that you could see in the distance. The chips were outstanding. I came too late for them to be wrapped in newspaper (unfortunately) - they were wrapped in greaseproof paper. Then I learned to dump the malt vinegar on it...wow! In fact, outside of Italian or Indian restaurants in Soho, these were the best places to get a good meal.
My point was industrial foods factories vs basic farming.
Every thing in moderation and trying to limit the industrial foods in our diet and more of mother nature foods as the main course of our diet to maintain good health.
I hope you enjoy “Fathead” it counter balance “Super Size me”.
The scare about GMO foods is at the same level of stupidity and ignorance as global warming and the ozone hole.
Thanks I’ll take a look. I still think that mass-scale food production has been a gift to the world. That is why the global governments want to destroy it. They want to control the food supply. That way, they control the world. And I speak as a foodie.
I am a meat eater I will always be a meat eater but I want to have a choice to eat grass feed or pasture raised on farmland like the Lord indented.
If they want sell this Industrialized food to feed the world that is their business but I want a choice to eat from my local famer foods that are good for the region as a steady diet.
Nothing wrong with treats from other areas but it should not be our main stable. It has been known that the right amount of nutrition and minerals are in each region soil for a purpose.
Monsanto and others like it should not have a monopoly to all the land on this earth!
These Globalist are over stepping in sharing this planet!

That is funny I am thinking the opposite you do realize that not only the Republicans like Nixon and Bush as well as both Clinton and Obama administration supports these GMO and CAFO foods.
We'll have to watch how this all plays out but for me to be on the safe side I prefer home grown when available.

I think you should know that most freepers do not support Republicans like Nixon or Bush willy-nilly like Democrats support their corrupt masters. That should be a given here.
And you do realize that most people cannot either afford or have access to “home grown” food? As someone who for years haunted the Union Square market - one of the best in America - I began to find the prices outrageous - although not necessarily marked up. So, no fresh-killed, organic chickens for me. And fuhgeddabout a fresh-killed duck or turkey during the holidays. I couldn’t even afford chicken feet for chicken soup it began to get so expensive. The only thing that was affordable in the end was the endless round of apples, apples, apples...
