Happy Clinton Impeachment Day! 15th Anniversary; FReepers Led the Way
I honestly don't give a damn what my ISP thinks of the robertsons because none of my ISP money goes to a&e. I stopped that years ago when I cancelled the cable tv. But I love the lengths you tee vee junkies will go to in order to justify your addiction. Don't let those nasty values get in the way of housewives of harlem or whatever you watch.
What does that mean? Activists only need apply? Others don’t bother donating or reading. That would be like canceling my cable to send a message. i am way to old care what you think and that there is only one way to accomplish a goal. I do not apologize or back down from what I think is right.
Since you do not have a tv, what did you do to send a message?
And you still did not answer my question. What network shutdown or changed when you cancelled and let them know why? Just wondering.
I really appreciate your enthusiasm, but, I have a Christmas program to perform, so I will not be able to continue this tonight. I love this website and those wiling to share.
It’s great that we can disagree on some things, but still be cordial and respectful. HAVE A MERRY AND BLESSED CHRISTMAS.
You have a Blessed Christmas too! Our God Reigns!!!!
Prayers that your program is everything that you and God want it to be!
But your money goes to support your ISP and unless you have discovered some heretofore unknown staunchly conservative communications company, that hypocrite shoe fits you to a tee! I’ll let you wallow in your sanctimonious hypocracy while you surf housewives of harlem websites or whatever you hypocritical jerks are into.
See there, sunshine? I can do it too! Got any other ridiculous strawman arguments and insults to pull out of that vapid intellect you’re desperately trying to convince us has a superior, or at least plausibly valid, point of view? (hint: you’re failing)
Based on your laughable “holier than thou” facade, I’ll bet you’re a real joy to be around. You can have the last word chuckles. I’ve spanked you enough and you need the last word to regain some semblance of dignity. Have at it.
he did not speak out forcefully in the interview, he just answered a question
Allow me too correct it for you. You "MIGHT" possibly get programing then again you might not depending on terrain. I live about 10 air miles from four network towers to the south of me. I'm on the north slope of a very high ridge. No signal. None Nada even with an outdoor antenna on a pole. That's why about 20 years ago I bought a C-Band dish and later a Direct TV system when their technology evolved. I have enough sense and self control to understand how a remote control works and censor what channels I don't like just as I have enough common sense to avoidcertain websites.
Now some words for the so called purist. Got Cell Phones? Many cell corps support liberal causes. Got AT&T? The same and oh BTW in 99% of these United States you will use and support AT&T no matter who your landline or cell carrier actually is. You will use AT&T's grid. Got Comcast? They own what? MSNBC isn't it? Got Comcast phone? You still use AT&T switching.
Personally I watch a handful of shows like Duck Dynasty, Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, Yukon Men, Alaska the last Frontier, and just a few more. My TV Guide is set on about a dozen channels. I don't even have any network news on My Favorites.
No I'm not cutting off my satellite TV service. My war isn't with my satellite company. I choose what I wish to watch. If it were just me I'd likely have only a very few channels I'd even pay for. My keeping up with the news etc is done on line on slow 52K dial up. My wife's only ability to get news and entertainment and for that matter religious broadcast though is TV and I'm not depriving her of it.
The purist who thump their chest saying we cut off our TV still it seems use the Internet which is subsidized & supported by whom? Be smart in your battles and don't toss aside what useful tool you have. The best way to control TV content is remote control first and protesting to sponsors second.
Ah, so you didn’t try what I suggested. Works for me. Why the big fuss?
I have an antenna farm in my yard for police scanners I used to pick up distant PD's, FD, etc. I can pick up radio towers north, west, and east of me even a state or two away. Not south. Why? because those signals are mainly line of sight. If you are either on flat terrain, high terrain, or can see the towers, then yes you can get a signal. If you are on the back side of a high ridge between your home and the towers then no indeed you likely will not get a viewable signal digital or otherwise.
Charlie Sheen, Tiger Woods, and their contracts
http://blog.aynrandcenter.org/charlie-sheen-tiger-woods-and-their-contracts/
It simply sounds like a similar arrangement between Phil & A&E that Tiger Woods had with his sponsors. They knew what Phil’s sentiments were, and they shielded themselves from the consequences of a controversy over them by telling him ‘don’t go there’. He went ‘there’ and they exercised their options. He had the right to say what he said, and they had the right to suspend him.
People can fight all day long in the courts over whether it was a violation of his rights, but if Phil agreed to be limited in this way, then it’s his own fault. Would an employer send a minder to an interview with an employee? Yes, if there was likelihood of bad fallout from such an interview. Apparently Phil accepted a minder accompanying him and - according to Fox News - limitations on what he would say in an interview. If that is the case, I do not sympathize with him.
If that is the case, I do not sympathize with him.
I have cable tv and have no intention of cancelling it. Right now I’m watching Untold Stories of the ER. I find it interesting.
As far as I’m concerned it is up to the Phil and the family to decide what their next move is. If they want to be treated in the manner they have been treated in the past few days, they will continue to film with A&E. If they truly respect themselves they will leave A&E.
Are you capable of distinguishing between the law and a morals clause? religion is protected by the civil rights act, drunks and serial bigamists are not. This not really hard stuff. The law is what the law is. Employers can NOT fire employees for their religious beliefs or for stating them in public. I happen to think that employers should be able to fire and hire for what ever reason they please but that is not the law. I understand that, many don’t.
3. Discriminatory treatment of employee.
If an employee can show they have a sincerely held religious belief and that the employer knew about it, Title VII prohibits the employer from discriminating against the employee because of the belief. “Discrimination” includes demotion, layoff, transfer, failure to promote, discharge, harassment, or intimidation, or the threat of these adverse employment actions.
The employer is also required to reasonably accommodate the employee’s religious beliefs unless such accommodation would result in undue hardship to the employer. “Accommodation” means that employer neutrality is not enough. In general, an employer is required to accommodate an employee’s adherence to the principles of his religion unless such accommodation will actually interfere with the operations of the employer.
“unless such accommodation would result in undue hardship to the employer.”
If A&E suffered a major backlash from their audience from Phil’s comments, then it would fulfill this clause. They were worried about the gay & leftist backlash. They should’ve worried about the Christian & rightist backlash.
A&E should understand the audience of the show. Apparently they don’t.

The next year or whatever their contract obligation is will tell. A&E has most of the next season taped. Owning the show they can broadcast it and the network show how two faced it is. It may take a couple of years for Duck Commander to get set up unless their contract is either bought out or unless DD threatens A&E with a violations of civil rights suit which would likely be winnable because it involve freedom of expression of Phil's religious beliefs.
Contract or no A&E is treading on very weak ground on the issue of Phils comments especially since A&E took months to act. That leads me to belive this was done as a favor to someone for spite. The timing of all this with someone getting slighted an interview is interesting.
One of DD's top sponsors also has the money to buy out the A&E contract and would likely be to their interest to do so to get the show with Phil back on the air.
Sport, you’re not in the mood to break your entertainment addiction. My ISP isn’t giving CNN, msnbc, a&e or any of the networks any of my money every month. Tell you what... Keep paying that tee vee bill every month. Keep funding your own demise. Fools like you make your own gravy...just add water. Just quit your goddamned pissing and moaning about them using that money you give them to treat you and yours like a bitch because you deserve every cent of it.
