I taught my kids to shoot using an old S&W pellet rifle. Like you, I wore my arm off pumping the damn thing. They were so small that we had to rest the barrel on a bench. We did have a lot of fun.
It really paid off. Both of my kids are great shots. In fact, my daughter got her expert shooting badge (she was told that she was one of two kids that earned it that summer) at summer camp when she was 14. When the shooting coach asked her if she liked shooting the .22 (the only caliber they shot at camp), she told him that the .22 was fun, but her AR15 was a whole lot more fun.

I had one of those lightweight .357’s. Painful to say the least.

Oh hell no, I've never shot a .357 out of it once, .38 Special only...and it's even a hand smacker.
With a CLIPDRAW it's the most comfortable thing you can wear.

That would be a heatwave for me! It is 2 above right now and supposed to be about 8 tomorrow. I love it up here in the wintertime tho, cold or no. It is stunningly beautiful, especially when the snow really piles up, and the air is the freshest to breath you could imagine. As long as the wind does not blow to hard and get the wind chill up, the low temps. don’t bother me. I’m used to ‘em tho and so are other mountains/boonies type folk up here. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

I’d love to go on airborne hog hunt with my Class III AR-15 and the 60-rnd SureFire Mags.
But with 27 known diseases, I wouldn’t be eating any of that feral meat.

You have to cook all pork well done, doesn’t that kill all their diseases?

It should, but the meat would be like leather and there’s no guarantee it would. I wouldn’t take the chance. Maggots, coyotes, foxes and buzzards gotta eat, too.

You gotta be really, really careful when you’re butchering the hog too. If you have a small cut on your arm or hand and the blood comes into contact with it, you might get real sick.
