S&W 625 with full moon clips. Clips are cheap enough to buy by the 100’s. I have about a thousand rounds ready to drop into the cylinder, no need stop and reload magazines.
More here and by searching on Navy electromagnetic rail gun NAVSEA Dahlgren.
Thanks, but I’ll just carry a sword (Hebrews 4:12). I’ll let other folks carry guns around and try to delay physical death for a few more miserable years.
And these are dandy on ground targets (even though it is classified as an air defense artillery system):
SHTF ping. less info more fun on the thread itself
If I were to own firearms (which, of course, I do not, because they are DANGEROUS) I would select an AR-15 and a Glock 23.
**Gun always on your person which you are famliar with, preferably a handgun with large capacity (XDM 19+1)
**AR-15 specd with EoTech optics
**.22LR rifle & pistol with quiet subsonic ammo (which may proven useful in an urban environment)
**.308 for longer range
**12 Ga shotgun
**Cleaning gear
**Spare magazines
**Portable reloader with die sets for calibers you use most
**Furnance and bullet dies for calibers you use most
If you need a scattergun, you let ‘em get too close and you’re probably screwed by that point!
Zombies = Democrats.
M-1 garand, .45 M1911 and a Roman Gladius for that “up close” feeling.
I’m gonna go a different route;
How about a Savage Model 24 [.22LR over 20GA] Henry Survival [AR-7] in .22LR,Benjamin model 392 .22 air rifle,Benj. NP in .22, for when regular ammo runs out or hard to get like now. Or how about any of the precharged pneumatic air rifles [the larger calibers can bring down very large dangerous game]
My choices:
1. A high-powered rifle with some range - 30-06, 30-30, .308 win, or similar. Quality scope recommended. This gives range and knock-down power.
2. A second serious rifle, such as the AR-15 in .223 or 5.56, with combat capability but lighter/cheaper(???) ammo. Red dot or otherwise holographic sight a good idea. [Optional]
3. An inexpensive to shoot rifle, especially a .22LR. Iron sights may be the best answer for quick target acquisition if you are a decent shot. The Henry Survival rifle is a nice option in this category, as if the Ruger 10/22, but there are hundreds of other good choices, whether both action or semi-automatic. I would suggest some but not all ammo in subsonic to avoid disturbing the peace.
4. A pistol that is light enough to carry continuously but in a reasonably high and common caliber - .38, .357, 9mm, .45 Colt, or .45 ACP.
5. A shotgun, in 12 gauge for most people, for home defense. Either a pump like the Rem. 870, or a good, reliable semi-automatic is great. Extended magazine preferred.
6. A pistol that is sturdy enough to pack a punch and shoot well, in a reasonably high and common caliber - .38, .357, 9mm, .45 Colt, or .45 ACP. [Optional]
As far as I am concerned, two of the above are optional, anything extra is mostly for recreation or for other family members and neighbors. I’ve read several comments that the pistols are only so you can fight your way back to the long guns you should have been carrying to begin with, but I don’t quite agree. There are times when carrying a long gun would draw too much attention, and the pistols are for those times.
I am in agreement that one needs a “reach out and touch someone” bolt action - I prefer 30-06, a carbine, a tactical shotgun, a Ruger 10/22, a large bore pistol on the hip a high capacity BUG, .22 cal air rifle.
Need knives, tomahawk, machete, crossbow.
I based my BUG on the fact that DHS bought shitloads of .40s&w, so I figured there may be some ammo circulating if things get hot.
