People who go around saying “I’m proud” have poor self esteem.
FEdeRAL democRATS, ALL..
Luke 11:52. Woe unto you federal slugs ...
Whatever! I don’t care dude. Do you care about me?
OK, so when are fed agents going to arrest a hunter on federal lands-— cause they are “shutdown”.... what a joke!!
The private sector could do the work for a lot cheaper and the dead wood percentage would be low.
Of all the self-serving, self-aggrandizing, self-stroking feel-good claptrap I’ve read, this could serve as a model. No surprise that it comes from the comPost. It and the NYCrimes are thumping the tub heavily to protect obama on this one.
Fortunately, it looks like they’re losing.
I’d suggest that this self-absorbed whiner quit his federal job and take one of those high-paying private sector positions he claims he is forgoing to serve his nation.
Unfortunately for him, he KNOWS that a private sector job for which he would be hired that pays what the Foreign Service is paying him does not exist—or the whiner would have taken it already.
By the way, his Iraq “war zone” service was most likely served in the cushy, and safe, Green Zone.
Absolutely.
As a retired DOD Government employee, I can see that Jason Ullner suffers from the same problem as too many (but not all) of the people I worked with over the years did.
They forgot that the term "Civil Service" means that you are hired by the Government to perform a service that is payed for by Taxpayers.
Thus, they, and the rest of the Government work for the people who pay those taxes (I won't comment about those who don't pay taxes), and the services provided should always be the best value for the funds spent.
In any discussions I have with people about the Federal Government, I always try to convince them that:
1. The Government should ONLY be doing things justified by the Constitution.
2. Never assume that the Government will do anything faster, better, cheaper, etc. That includes hiring contractors to perform the work under the auspices of "saving" money.
3. Always assume that every Government activity, once started, will NEVER end.
4. Know that the majority of any initial (and probably follow-on) funding for any new Government activity will be spent on new buildings, furnishings, art for buildings, etc., and will not go directly to the function that the activity was sold to the public on. The best way to go up the food chain is to create an ever expanding organization that you oversee.
5. Public Unions should never, ever, ever be allowed. Ever.
6. There are good and bad people working in the Government, and in the Contractor companies they hire. Usually those folks try to stay out of the limelight/politics and just do the best job they can.
7. Government needs to be rolled way, way back to just those Constitutional requirements. And then what's left needs to be monitored closely to see that real benefits vs costs are occurring.
I could go on, but my fingers are tired.
I easily understand the frustration being voiced about the Government/workers here on FR. I could tell some horror stories of what I saw during my time in the Civil Service.
“I am a federal bureaucrat.”
You are a parasite. A leech. A tick. A tapeworm. A vampire. You and your legions have suffocated every government since the dawn of time from Egypt to Ecuador. Every dime you make is a dime thrown down a rathole. You do nothing, and if by some accident you do make some contribution, it is at twice the cost and half the efficiency of your counterpart (if there even IS one) in the private sector.
Your wages are paid by stealing food from the mouths of babies. Sloth is your watchword and villainy your creed. Remember that line from the Declaration of Independence, in which Jefferson praised King George for “sen[ding] hither swarms of officers to harass our people and eat out their substance”? You don’t? Neither do I. That’s because he DIDN’T praise the king; he cited those officers as a casus belli — justification for war! YOU are the modern-day agents of the sorry “king” that now squats in the White House. If you and the rest of your horde vanished tomorrow, the only impact would be cheaper parking in DC.
To call you worthless is to devalue worthlessness.
federal gub mint is little more than a shake down.
Bunch of worthless blood suckers
