Thanks Lancey. It’s like I’m in some sort of Bizarro world, where up is down and down is up and I have to reply. I am taking names though, and they will hear from me once the truth comes out.
Yeah - Joe knowingly enabled a pedophile. ANY ONE of these posters - with a gun to their head, if pressed for a yes or no - All of them would say no.
Yet their mouths here run like the Mississippi.
You are 100% correct and will sleep better tonight if you just let it go. If you look at his in forum posts it is largely a JoPa lovefest. If we all ignore him maybe he will go away. Going to read more interesting threads - have a good night :-)
Protecting? Please read my posts, FRiend. :)
I guess you’re another one that doesn’t read much. I don’t post opinions I’m not fully informed on. You should take that advice. I don’t think you’re informed on this at all.
See, I think you give some of those trolls way too much credit. Truth and fact has nothing to do with anything. It's all about a bunch of little nobodies tearing down the reputation of somebody who achieved greatness. That's what a lot of little nobodies do. It's irrational, but it's part of the sick side of human nature.
Sandusky didn't get away with decades of homosexual pedophile rape because Joe Paterno and a couple of other university officials looked the other way - - Sandusky got away with homosexual pedophile rape for decades because at least a hundred people, including his family and friends, his Second Mile associates, university donors and benefactors, and reporters looked the other way. Apparently the cops did, too.
But no - - smug, small little people have more fun laying everything at the feet of Joe Paterno.
Haha, have fun:-)
What a long, boring sh** filled screed. Guys guilty, evidence says so, accept it.
Blame the dead guy. The truth is too hard to find. You are pathetic. ... and I am no fan of Paterno.
Hummbleguna-hat does not own this site. Feel free to ignore and tell that idiot to STFU.
Interesting reading.
Thank you for posting this. I have been a Penn State and Joe Paterno fan for almost 50 years. I have bit my lip and not commented on the vile things said about this subject over the last year or so.
Today I had to just say that I fully believe that JoePa has been railroaded by the sick media. I feel better now after reading the article.
So I guess I will be flamed now. Fire away...
His status as a corpse is beside the point - were he still alive, his actions would require the same review.
A pathetic person is someone who would excuse a bad actor from responsibility simply because he is dead.
Fifty Shades of Gay?
But you understand that just because you like someone's skills as a football coach doesn't mean that he's innocent, right?
I like Martin Scorsese and enjoy his films, but if it turned out that his longtime editor or cinematographer had been taking kids to the studio at night in order to abuse them, and a cameraman saw it and told Scorsese about it and his only response was to go to the studio head and studio security and say: "Hey I heard this might be going on" - and to never talk to the actual cops and to remain on his retired cinematographer's children's charity's board for years after - well, I would think twice aboiut saying: "I've enjoyed his movies for decades! The media must be railroading him!"
That isn't an analytical reaction - it's an emotional one.
This is more than a "Paterno is a spotless angel" story - its perspective is much darker than just the typical naivete of the generic Paterno booster.
You do understand that Sandusky was acquitted by the jury of that child molestation charge regarding this boy McQueary saw in the shower.
And you do understand that that night McQueary reported what he saw to a family physician who is a mandated reporter on child abuse and he chose based on what McQueary told him not to report it himself and also advised McQueary not to call the police but to just tell Paterno instead.
And you do understand that neither Paterno nor the other administrators were mandated reporters. None saw the incident and were getting their information from someone who himself never called 911 and whose family physician never advised to either then or after the fact.
And you do understand that Dr Raykovitz, the director of Sandusky’s 2nd Mile charity, was notified of this incident — and he was a mandated reporter, meaning that he was required by law to call and report reasonably suspected child abuse but also that his call would actually be received and investigated.
And you do understand that the boy in the shower, 14 at the time, is now 26 and came forward subsequently and said that he was not molested that night or any other time by Sandusky.
And you do know that Louis Freeh was a fundraiser and sponsor for Sandusky’s 2nd Mile charity during all those years. Are any of you accusing him of being an enabler???
Well, now you do know and have no excuse — so go back to sleep.
Got it.
