I guess I need to get some sleep.
I entered 3 short story contests this week.
yay me.
To: Silentgypsy
Good morning. It sounds like you were very productive. I organized the children’s school books for the new year (which begins today) and ordered a few extra items, which should be here by Monday.

Good night and sweet dreams!

Pilot, at first, and then he went into nuclear weapons. In his last post before he retired, he was Atlantic Fleet Weapons Officer, “AIRLANTFLT.”

We have a lot of socks now, because I bought additional packages when the boys went to Scout camp. Finding their own pants and shirts, per-each-apiece, is a trial, though.

The highest in our family was CPO.
The RN is a class obsessed entity.
CPO is safely just below the first ‘Glass ceiling’.

Ah, interesting. Dad was a farm kid without much education, not the usual Navy officer candidate, but they really needed pilots in the late 1950s and he had some flying experience and good reflexes. He turned out to be an okay pilot, but a very good officer.

There are three (official) ways to climb up into officer country in the British forces.
1 Go to a private school. The sky is the limit.
For the state educated:
2 Get a university education and get ,hopefully ,accepted for officer training and accept that there is a glass ceiling about halfway up the officer ranks.
Unless you acquire an ‘interested party’, above the ceiling.
3 Artificer, Non commissioned officer-in-training. leading after many, many years to a commission, if you are lucky.
Mixtures of the above are possible.

Titles I come up with tend to be related to the music I was listening to at the moment the chapter popped to mind.
For example, The chapter dealing with nanite infection is titled ‘Polyamorous Friend’ because of the Breaking Benjamin song that was playing.
So I am afraid originality isn’t my strong suit on such.

How about “Admirals Unaware?”
I haven’t read the rest of the posts since that one, so if someone else has suggested something else, my bad!
