The speech was completely from the black perspective. It was all about why black men feel bad about their perception while barely touching on how that reputation has been completely earned.
Obama essentially chalked up disproportionate black criminality to the standard Liberal reasons — poverty and the history of slavery.
But why do black nations without that history of slavery or segregation also have a far higher rate of murder and violent crime?
Why do Asian nations like Cambodia that have a poverty rate far higher than the black sections of Chicago or New Orleans also have a homicide and violent crime rate that is far lower?
If poverty drives violent crime, then why didn’t we see a spike in white violent crime during the Great Depression?
We also see a higher rape rate in urban areas. Even if you are dirt poor, how does raping someone make you better off? Do you really need a better living area or even a father present to understand that rape is wrong?
If a history of segregation and persecution is to blame for black crime and violence, then why are the Jews who had centuries of segregation and persecution in Europe some of the least violent and criminal people?
If the legacy of slavery is to blame for the state of the black community, then why is the black family disintegrating more and violence growing the further we get from slavery?
If poverty causes crime then why did two formerly affluent places like Detroit and Gary become crime ridden before they became poor? It’s because in more instances it’s not poverty that creates crime, but instead crime that creates poverty. Those with money flee the war zone, and businesses relocate.
We recognize that there are racial differences in appearance, biology, and even athleticism, yet it’s still blasphemy to state the obvious — there are also racial differences in temperament, including propensity toward violence. The black underclass are where they are because they disproportionately resort to crime not because of discrimination, poverty, or the legacy of slavery, but instead because of temperament. It was just on display for the whole country to see in L.A., Oakland, and other locations.
Makes me think of the opening of the movie "Crash".
Mine locks at 15 MPH, so my pickup is less racist than your car.
When I strayed too far south in Chicago, I locked my doors and was prepared to run red lights if a group of zombies approached my car. Does that make me a racist or a realist?
Was he sure that wasn't the sound of a slide slamming forward on a live round?
