Palmetto bugs = big cockroaches with necks.
Wasn’t there a movie based on them or something?
HIV is not transmitted thru mosquito bites, at least that is what they tell us.
I saw some this time las year. Haven’t seen any this year.
Saw the first Jersey lightning bug tonight.
My impression is that they used to not come out until early July - now I see them early June. Anyway we’ve had plenty in our town the last few years. Syncopated light displays.
LOL! I’ve been to Goose Bay back in 1969, winter! crewman on a KC-135Q.
****Mosquitoes consider me a rare delicacy****
Mosquitoes love my wife.
Ticks love me! I pulled one off that was so big, It turned and attacked me! I had to pull out my BUCK knife and stab it to death!
And I got witnesses who saw it!
Yeah, that’s true, about trees and leafy suburbs. I’m fifty-seven and when I was eight or nine my brothers and sisters and me would be running around our back yard catching them and this was in Kearny, NJ. Kearny is located about two miles west, across the Passaic River from Newark and about the same distance from Jersey City and it’s about a forty minute train ride and you’re in downtown Manhattan. But this was almost fifty years ago and I live in southern NJ now. Haven’t seen one of the little things in some time.
Alright, they live! As I remember it, June is the best time of the year to see them.
typo, meant to say ‘’east across’’
They’re like the “Will ‘O’ the Wisp’’ of the bug world. You see them and then you don’t.
95 degrees, 95% humidity, giant skeeters, I-4 and overrun with Mexicans (try going to a state park on a weekend). I’ve love to drive an INS truck through Wekiva Springs, place would empty in 20 minutes. Medard Park in Hillsborough County, we camped there when my daughter was younger, had a lot of great times there. Last time I drove through some years ago, I was afraid to stop the car. Might as well have put up a sign saying Americans not welcome.
I go to Florida once a year for 4 days in January on business. Keeps fresh in my mind why I left that cr@phole.
I wouldn’t move back there for triple my income.
They’re very spotty - some places have hordes, others nothing.
Well fine I’m sure the people where you live appreciate your sparkling personality.
Will Kaufman be willing to prove it by spending an hour or two with an HIV+ person in a chamber full of gallinippers?
LOL
Actually, my outlook improved dramatically when we left. I get up in the morning looking forward to each day.
I have friends that think Florida is the greatest place in the world. For them I suppose it is. We disliked it considerably and were fortunate enough to sell out just a couple of months before the market collapsed.
Yet another excellent reason to carry concealed. :-)
I was there 65-66. I left your bed made at the Goose Hilton.
***the Goose Hilton.***
Is that the ALERT Barracks? No wonder I got short sheeted!;-D
