Is this really Finnish Opera?? Google translate, confirms your theory. Plus it sounds the same as when I tried learning it, for entertainment purposes, from Finnish Radio on Shortwave. This was waste of time; multiple meanings (up to 12) for the same word is crackers!

Morning TC,
Morning Bob,
Heavy ‘Fog’ today, and for the rest of the week.
Must be that globull cooling....
Bob, is it grammatically correct to put a (.) after a (...) thus forming a (....)? It just looks wrong.

The actual difference is said to be that with an ellipsis (...) one is making a deletion in what was said, a skip of not particularly relevant content.
Whereas with a (....) one is stating that it is a deletion to completion. There was nothing relevant to follow.
Neither may be specifically grammatical. They are visual representations of verbal components of speech. As such, they serve the purposes of punctuation, not grammar.

t should come as no surprise that I am one of those people who seem to be unable to ‘relax’ as it is an alien concept.
I’m always ready to do something, even while camping in the middle of nowhere.
I’ve had it commented on, “Man, you’re really tensed up!”
Somewhat hysterical, actually.
Maybe I really am a cat punished with being human... /bad joke

I think I’m here. I’ve got the S-L-O-W-S today.
I just put four BIG pork ribs in the crockpot and covered them them BBQ sauce, and will eat one or two later on today. Yummy! I don’t think I could make anything else to eat, what with the way I feel, and all.
Just in case anyone is curious: I’ve gone 243 miles on the gas in the tank, even though the gas gauge is below the “E.” I thought of trying to go 300, but I may just wait until 270 before I fill up. It will be interesting to see how many miles I get to the gallon.

I think, techincally the ellipsis (...) should only go in to indicate that some text has been omitted...

Hi Nully,
That bit of usage i’m clear on, after reading a book, the problem is:
Can you follow it with a (.)Full-stop/Period.
Or is that just scruffy and bad Punctuation.
What Bob said made perfect sense, but is (Data)(...)(.)a legal move?
‘All text removed’ up to a ‘Full-stop’ just looks odd.
Just wanting to get it right and remove this niggling doubt from my head.

start to levitate. Seriesly? As in out-of-body experience? Has anyone ever warned you about going into a permanent dissociative state if you meditate too much? (Or am I confusing that with the weird drug stuff that went on in the '60's?)

Your brain never ceases to amaze me. (Like the time T-c pointed out the potential damage that could be caused by a misplaced modifier, and you theorized how much damage a well-placed modifier could cause.)

When I have seen that (....) in print, in books or newspapers, the period is usually in bold. That indicates the end of the thought that is quoted or surmised.

NicknamedBob’s explanation and mine are not incompatible.
I’m not certain of the finer points of usage, but I customarily use it at the end of a post to indicate things unsaid and/or thoughts to be completed by the reader or simply trailing off...
