What I never understood was how ANY typing teacher expected a student to “memorize” the keys and your finger placements if you didn’t look at the keys? How will you know how close you are to finding the right key, besides making a bazillion key strokes in the blind search?

I never download any “new” versions of anything because it takes about six months of tweaking before the bugs are all found. I will stay with IE7 for now.

(Of course, I know someone who knows someone who works for Microsoft, so I may have an edge on that kind of thing...)

Works fine for me in Windows 7 (but I use "Waterfox" primarily)

The key is to make it more his problem than yours that he hasn’t put his toe in yet.

Perhaps serve liver every night? Perhaps play Lawrence Welk’s Greatest Hits at top volume whenever he’s at home? Perhaps follow him the next time he’s going to meet a friend and after they’ve sat down for lunch or coffee or whatever walk up and say, “THERE you are! Where did you put that underwear you wanted me to get the stain out of? I need to get the laundry started.” There are all sorts of ways to make him wish he lived ANYWHERE else.

It just amazes me, we are 3 thousand miles apart and yet you manage to have an effect.

You can get into the computer and set your selections to be notified of updates. That way, you don’t need to put up with any unpleasant surprises. I can do it on my own PC, but someone else would have to tell you how to do it. It’s beyond me to ‘splain that kind of thing!

Probably start with Tools, Internet Options, Programs...I’m lost from there...
