It was teh site you needed EMSHA training to be at, and I didn’t have EMSHA yet.
Drove through on ride cross-country. Didn't stop. Was in a hugh hurry. I do love the state of Tennessee though. Is like sitting on a plane for there are few hills except on east side from what I remember. Don't get me wrong ... have nothing against hills, unless it is attached to ery.

From what little I got to see of the Northeast part of the state, I liked it.
I kinda like North Carolina when I was in the Duck area in ‘09.
I too have been watching ... so far so good. Greetings_Puny_Humans ... checked on that one the other night. Little improvement in that one, thus far, or at the time this one was in full argument on one of the religious threads. Saw another new one a day or two ago ... will go back and check logs to see if can come up with a nick. Have it here somewhere.
Duck is a Great Area. Right there near Nags Head.
A good fishing spot is down the road on OB after the inlet bridge is Avon. Fished there a couple of times when Dad was still with us.
We’ve passed through a few times, but not stopped for more than a few minutes. There’s a state welcome center on the river bank right by the bridge as you drive in from Arkansas on 40.

I wanted to do waverunner jousting, but nobody else was up to that kind of insanity.

And I couldn’t do it alone as everyone else had the vehicles.

The Maryland power pant I was doing the deslagging at was.. odd.
The plant itself was mostly outdoors, unwalled, catwalks.
It looked like the set of some villains lair.
They had their own GE 40 ton yard switcher locomotive.
Which promptly totalled out some idiots truck since he’d parked it on the rails after being told not to.
So along comes the switcher and *BOOMPHTH* the truck is being dragged down the trackage at three miles an hour.
Warm day here.
I guess I should go see how the baby’s nap is going.
I was so old by the time made it to OB the last couple of times. Dad and I sat around in lounge chairs fishing and watching everyone else have fun. It worked for us though.
