While I was and am not a big Rush fan musically, they get a pass from being on the worst list just for some of the political themes in their songs, like Red Sector A, Tom Sawyer, and Red Barchetta.
That is a truly frightening thought. I’m glad I’ve managed to miss that. I will endeavor to continue doing so.
He jumped the shark after The River.
Wild Billy’s Circus Story
The Angel
New York City Serenade
Lost In The Flood
It’s Hard To Be A Saint In The City
Darkness on The Edge of Town got me through some intense family issues during my teens.
After The River, he got political and stupid and I tuned out.
And yes, I made pilgrimages to Asbury Park several times during the winter when it was appropriately moody and abandoned.
I despise him now because I felt betrayed by his subsequent dive into pompous liberal self righteousness.
Thanks I knew I’d read about it.
“Night Moves” is as close to time travel as I’ll ever come.
My high school sweetheart and a parked car in the middle of nowhere.
I can still remember...still remember...
Workin’ on our night moves
Trying to lose the awkward teenage blues
Workin’ on our night moves
In the summertime
And oh the wonder
Felt the lightning
And we waited on the thunder
Waited on the thunder
I woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain’t it funny how the night moves
When you just don’t seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closing in
*sigh*
Gary Wright
You, with the ear worms!
Stop it!
LOL
Traffic was great.
YOU POSTED THAT!
YOU DEPRAVED.... B-)
Ricky Ricardo...
>>Amazing how Frampton was the huge thing for a year or so after FCA came out in 76, and then....nothing...darn shame because the guy is still an incredible player. Id love to catch a show of his if he ever comes back around.
I saw him a couple of years ago and liked his show quite well. I love the Internet, here’s the set list:
Oh, now you got some 'splaining to do.
What a strange thing to say. Whoever they were covering must have been pretty obscure because I had never heard the songs until Zeppelin recorded them. And the group had a unique sound that made them easily distinguishable from other groups which were popular at the time.
If you're looking for over-rated groups, I think you need to look elsewhere.
Did anyone mention Lady Ga Ga?
World’s most famous mediocre guitarist.
Horrible dancer.
(Though not nearly as bad as Steve Perry)
Chuck Berry was seminal. His singing and guitar virtuosity surpass the lyrics to his songs, except Jonny Be Good, assuming he wrote that one.
I change my vote to Tiny Tim - Ricky was OK.
