Some of the full-time road warriors do launder their clothing that way. We have an excess of easily-available rough roads around here, but they rattle the daylights out of some of the components. (The inverter really gave us a scare last week—or was it the week before?) I’ll do the plunger thing if necessary. “That which does not kill you....” I appreciate the suggestions! You are a constant source of enlightenment.

For short stories I was thinking of checking out The Writers Market and looking for a periodical. That may be too old school.*********************************
It's worth a try. Amazon also publishes quite a few short stories and novellas.

Some of those unpublished authors on Amazon have some real gifts for constructing stories. Barnes & Noble does that as well, and Ive read some very good stories on both of them.*********************************
Yes, some are surprisingly good, and it's an exciting development in publishing.

That which does not kill you Sometimes I want to find the authors of those aphorisms and give them a swift kick in the patootie. In my experience, that which does not kill you often makes you wish it had.

We have a metal washtub, a glass scrubby board like my mom used to use, a rain barrel, but no wringer. However, you can put a vise grip thingy up on a good, stable stud, secure the laundered articles in the grip, and twist the article from bottom to top. I worked out with a body builder who used to twist the moisture out of her pool towel every day. Her forearms were awesome.

I think TOL is the soap expert here. I don’t know how to do the lye and ash thing. I just learned this A.M. how to substitute instant yeast for dry and versy vicey.

I have instructions somewhere for making a bow out of PVC tubing. The arrows sound too difficult.

If that’s a heart, it’s missing a few vital components. If it’s an artery, it needs some structural support. Sometimes your pix mystify me.

That was Nietzsche, I think. His patootie is in no condition to be kicked. I did adopt the “trial by fire” philosophy until I retired.

I already have a blowgun. What kind of target do you use for marshmallow ammo?
Gotta get going. For some reason, I can’t shut up. Calls for nic change.
S’mores? Those little chocolate squares and graham crackers would require superior accuracy. There is someone either on the UT or accessible to a UTer who can expound on the aerodynamic properties of marshmallows. SYL
