Seacrest says the judges have the "save" again this year. It has to be unanimous, yada yada.
There's no danger that they'll use the save on a 10th place singer.

Minaj throws up her arms and she walks all of five feet away from the judges' table before returning. Nicki, you're supposed to pretend that the "singing for your life" stuff actually means something.
He sings "I Believe I Can Fly". He sure puts everything into it that he can.
The audience chants "Save! Save! Save!"

Oh how I miss when the results show was only a 1/2 hour. Now it's fill....fill....fill.....the boot.
And they some how found a way to make the whole process even more convoluted.
Name the Top 3, but don't rank them.
Name the 4th through 8th place singers, and DO rank them.
Name the Bottom 2, but don't rank them again.
Throw in a mini-competition between two retreads.
A group song/movie promotion
A pre-taped performance.
A live performance.
A dramatic sing-for-your-life-even-though-we-all-know-you're-going-home-anyway peformance.
Minaj's shenanigans.
I'm surprised (and grateful) they were able to fit all this into one hour :)
