That Stingray Concept Car from a few years back was a nice design. Should have gone with that.
Well, I see they have brought the Aztec design team out of retirement.
They cut-and-pasted the ass end of the camaro onto the previous-generation vette to get this. Ridiculous.
They’ve lost one of the main identifying style elements of the vette: the twin *and separated* tail lights. The new ones are nearly identical to the camaro lights. The ridiculous little “quarter window” cheapens the whole car too. Vettes have never had those. And as noted upthread, the high beltline really adds fat to the car. They could have continued the drop in the bodyline along the window, and then they’d have a real place to put that rear air inlet.
Give me a C-3 anyday. Larry Shinoda must be rolling in his grave.
Do not like. The Vette has lost it’s character. I’m sure it performs wonderfully, but it looks too much like too many other cars ... Lotus, Nissan/Infinit, etc.
Here we see the number one problem with modern sports cars. Proper airflow must be a priority at today’s speeds, which means design freedom is inhibited and all the bodies start to look very similar.
I hope none are ever entered in our car shows. I’ll have a heck of a time controlling my gag reflex while judging them. I’ve never been a ‘Vette fan but this has got to be the butt-ugliest version they’ve come up with yet.
I think I’ll stick with my ‘57 Bel Air and call myself a happy lil camper. :-)
As a corvette fan, it’s ugly. Damn ugly.
The rear end reminds me of that Cadillac CTS-V and the front end is an abomination. Whoever designed it should be shot.
The styling say Dodge Viper
I’d rather have a nice pickup truck instead of tearing up that toy on all the pot holes which would destroy that plastic toy...
With all the radar, traffic, pot holes and red lights every 1/8th mile, that thing is basically useless.
With the Big Butt and the Ghetto wheels, the target demographic is clear.
The styling doesn’t even come close to competing with the mid-engined 2014 Cayman.
Corvette fan for a long time - owned a ‘58 and a ‘73. Sorry, GM, but this design just sucks....The name not withstanding, it’s supposed to be a sports car, NOT a boat. (...and the rear end DOES look like the Camaro)
I saw up close today a red split-window Corvette still sleek and gorgeous after 50 years. This one won’t be popular in 50 years.
No, don’t like anything about it.
Because racecar.
My husband is a lifelong Corvette enthusiast and former Vette owner (’80 C3 with the curvy shark body). He says none of the recent models look like Corvettes, and in fact look all the same. I agree with him. There’s nothing to distinguish them....just that rounded, inflated-looking body. All horsepower and no style.
