Glad to see you are back online!
How are you? Was it bad?
Looking for word from:
trisham; miss marmelstein; GeeBee; Stag; Neets
Got off easy. No damage. Trees down all over my block, but none on my property.
Three hour gas lines. No electricity since Sunday.
At my brother's house, using a generator - that's why I'm briefly on line.
Back to the 1880s when I go home tonight.
People down the Jersey Shore were absolutely destroyed.
My area got snow! About five inches. It has all melted now but trick or treat was not till Thursday night because of it. A few tree limbs came down is all. Not like the major storm we had this summer. Some in my county will without power.
What did you do? It’s running wicked fast for me now.
TONS quicker at the moment !
Anyone heard from melancholy? He hasn’t posted since the storm.
I’ve added her to the consolidated list. I am praying (as are many others) for the health and safety of each and every FReeper on that list.
I’ll add melancholy to the list of FReepers from whom we’re looking for word. Please let me know if you hear from him.
Will do.
How you two doing?
All good here in central N.C. Got some wind and rain... nothing more... thankfully! :-)
Mark 9 months on ur calendar....see what happens. :)
This is Maryland. I never though of it as Northeast.
However, Sandy created destruction to our East, to the North, and to the West. And southwest of here is the District of Columbia.
We were bracketed, but we weren't targeted.
On a more serious note: PLEASE check up on elderly in your area.
While I was working at the local shelter yesterday, a woman in her 80’s stopped in with her knitting - after chatting with her for a bit she nearly broke down in tears that her own kids weren’t checking on her.
A few years back we helped a woman in her 90’s survive - her kids actually got mad at us because we delayed them collecting their inheritance - sick and sad but true.
I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but I just wanted to put this in writing.
No power. No gas. Good thing I semi prepped. Wood burning stove is life saver. Widespread devastation and huge gas lines and brawls finally got me off the fence and I bought my first gun. Pump action shotgun. Love it. Word of advice for preppers. Stuff goes fast. Blowing through batteries and wood and I am trying to conserve. Oh, and PB&J sticks to your ribs.
Thanks folks
Real proud to be a member of the Freepernation. This family is the America I want to be a part of.
So, when are we all going to move to Texas?
