Will have to think about going further south soon. The aches and pains are becoming unbearable in the winter, in this neck of the woods. Spouse will say, we can't afford that, and yep, would be correct. Not looking forward to this winter. Will be warm though, even if they cut the lights. A prayer for the lights to say on.

Are you in Charlotte? So am I. It’s presently 71 here, according to my beeber, and quite nice inside and out. Frank keeps closing the windows, though.

no ... not in Charlotte, though can hear the stations there. Now hunkering down, so the dnc, the zer0 crowd cannot find me. Shucks most everyone who has any power knows where I am. Just hope they don't start shooting. If they should, it was ordained.

We wish we had snow now!!!
The fire now has a chance to come from the East it appears. Before it was North. Right behind the ridge in front of our place. If winds pick up today it may be hairy for us again.
Other than that all is well!!!

No snow here. The pepper plants are still producing as are the tomatoes (green), cantaloupes and a few green beans here and there.

Any chance you could fax or FedEx your brain down to my neck of the woods? There’s been a mournful sound (not wolves or coyotes, doves, owls or anything else I recognize). It flies (or seemed to relocate from tree to tree) so I guess it’s a bird. My experience with wildlife has been limited to the urban sort (feral cats, rats, etc.). Any ideas?

I had to look him up. Interesting-looking fellow, but he’s not Chinese. Is there a relevance that I missed? There often is!

I was thinking of you when I picked Asplorer Kitteh this morning. I hope things get better there, with some snow!

Hey, Gang! The Creator has come through *again*! Our elderly neighbor has had several health issues and, additionally, his elderly Yorkie ran off four months ago. He was demoralized and heartbroken. Today, his daughter retrieved the dog from a shelter 50 miles from here. Lotsa coincidences involved. This was precisely the time that he needed some good news! We’re bouncing off the walls with gratitude and happiness. Thanks for all those “To whom it may concern” prayers. Ya just can’t underestimate the power of prayer and of love.
Sweet dreams, y’all!

I’m so pleased for your neighbor and the Yorkie! My “boss,” Dona Edra the Spanish Battleaxe, and her daughter “Edra Jr.” are involved in “Yorkie Rescue,” taking in dogs who can’t stay with the original owner. Sometimes they keep “foster” Yorkies for the rest of their lives.
Dona Edra doesn’t think much of greyhounds, but aside from that, she’s a lovely person in just about every way!

"LOL! I am looking forward to that kind of snow!!!" Snow that is only periscope depth on a kitten, I can deal with.
At our latitude, we don't get as much of the cold weather to make snow, but we have plenty of the humidity. So when the conditions are right, we can get a lot of snow.
Also, the resources for dealing with it are stretched pretty thin, so a really deep snowfall tends to last for a while.
It may be a local joke that we stock up at the first mention of snow, but it's not a bad idea either.
