The cheating was spotted by a player at a nearby table, who noticed the ejected player conceal a pair of blank tiles by dropping them on the floor, organizers said. Blank tiles can be used as wild card letters. When confronted by the tournament director, he admitted to it, organizers said.
LOL! Classic
Uh oh, Kwyjibo on the loose!
the cheater must be a democrat
I surprised this guy wasn’t arrested and attempted fraud charges brought against him. The prize was $10,000, so winning by cheating certainly would amount to larceny.
I wuz caught cheating at Parcheesi once but dang it, it was a high-stakes game...
That’s nothing, man, I was once rejected from a Pick Up Sticks National Tournament.
How could I have forgotten?

Who would have thought that Biden would even think of entering a Scrabble tournament?
One Christmas, when my brothers and I were in high school, we were having a friendly game of Monopoly with our dad. I was the banker and after some nudging, winking and laughing, I started giving my brothers money under the table. We cheated the entire game but dad managed to buy Boardwalk and Park Place and the other properties on that side. He also purchased another entire side and had all the RRs and both utilities to boot. He had no idea we were cheating and we ‘fessed up at the end of the game after getting our butts beat in the game with all three of us being bankrupted. (Still not understanding how three people with unfettered access to an entire bank of money can lose everything. Brings to mind the nations’s current financial situation.)
It is the only time I have ever cheated. It was a friendly game with family - no real money involved- and I cannot even imagine trying to cheat in a tournament.
(Oh, and Dad was a good sport. It was a lesson for all of us.)
Sounds like dad was on to you guys somehow?
The next day he admitted in was very infanTILE of him to do this.
Actually it’s one of the few board games I like.
He didn’t have a clue. He trusted us! Man, I had the guilts for days until I remembered how badly he beat us. I don’t think the three of us had 2 properties between us and Dad had hotels on everything! He was puzzled that we all lost so badly and even a little sad. MAJOR GUILTS!!!!
My dad is a good man- has always been there for me. Always. But I wouldn’t play him ANY game for money.
what’s wrong with this kid that cheating at a scrabble tournament is some how a good idea? How can you be sooo focussed on a game-—as GAME fer cryin out loud-—that you want to chet to win...Oh yeah O is the example never mind
