Everytime I drive by the local country club and see an old geezer raring back to tee off I blast my horn as I go by. Their reaction gives me a good laugh and brightens my day.

Calm down. You are ignoring the context of the post.

I remember Arnold Palmer being on Johnny Carson one night. Palmer said his wife washes his balls.

To which Carson asked “Does that make your putter flutter?”

Law enforcement need to worry about that?

Yeah, they would. I'm not saying that people should always be meting out their own justice. It's just too bad that little punks like this can push people around and have no fear because the law protects them and not the people they're pushing around. A little fear isn't always a bad thing.

Try that on my kid and there will be lessons learned I promise you.

Too bad they missed the lessons on courtesy and respect for other people, then.

Dunno, maybe the video shows they just swatted him a little

There ya go, maybe you should watch the video......

A ten foot, fully extended aluminum ball retriever being swung at anybody isn't even going to produce a bruise.

The only overkill here is the involvement of law enforcement and the TV news station......but of course you wouldn't know that since you didn't watch the video. Sheesh!

How about if his dad and his football player brothers applied a smackdown to the geezers?

Just curious Dman, did you watch the video and the alleged "beat down"?

Yeah, funny how video is blocked at my location. Thanks for not having a snotty or condescending attitude, because that would have been a really dick move.

When I was 8 or 9 years old my dad used to take me golfing with him. The course bordered a really poor neighborhood. There was a six foot fence separating the fairway from the shacks. The kids used to reach through the fence and take the players’ balls if they were near the fence and offer to sell them back for a dollar. One day my dad’s foursome all refused and got out new balls and went on playing. I was sitting in the cart when a huge dirt clod came flying and landed right in the top of my dad’s golf bag. They were a set of ping clubs that he paid $1,300 for in 1975. They were his pride and joy. The next thing I saw was my dad vaulting over the fence with driver in hand, chasing those kids. I’ll never forget it. And by the way, all you dads and moms who take your kids golfing with you are creating some great memories for them.

I love a good practical joke, but disrespecting elders on the golf course is not to wise or appropriate. I have a one eyed uncle who is as tough a man as I have ever known. One evening a punk teenager was causing trouble, and harassing an employee in the snack bar of his theater. My uncle asked him politely but firmly to get out. The punk got in his face, started calling him “old man”, “Want me to leave?... Make me!” By the time the words left his lips my uncles open right hand swung around and popped that kid on the side of the head... the sound was amazing, like hitting a watermelon with an open hand with full force. My uncle turned around to a small audience of patrons 1/2 of which started clapping and the others were saying “I didn’t see a thing!” I not sure which hurt the kid more, the pain or the embarrassment but he shot out of there. My uncle felt bad and asked me how old I thought he was, I said I’m sure he was 18.

If anything, a fully extended retriever would break if hit hard, it is that flimsy. Those boys were not hurt in the least, whiney little brats.

We have some of those type of brats around our course, some of them will drive their cars onto the greens, the one closest to the roads. Take some liquids out on the greens and draw designs of course killing the green. They were caught, and the parents had to pay. lol

We had some very nice tree sculptures, the kids kept destroying them, finally had to remove them. These kids will get into the restrooms in the fairway and destroy them.

I just think these kids took a whooping for the whole bunch of brats out here. Don't mess with the old folks. lol
