Thank you. That was lovely. I will have to listen many times.
Sorry, but this is a site that is quite obviously profitting off of Il Divo material. They sell their legitimate CDs through reputable dealers.
For a site like FR who always have a bee in their bonnet about copyright (and rightly so) it just shows how inconsistent the moderation is that this is still up
I’m sure you posted with the best intent, but this link is not a good way to link to Il Divo’s work (which is all over You Tube and Vimeo and easy to link to). Yes, they are great singers and this is beautiful, but this site you posted is not legit.
I certainly do. It's a glorious expression of faith and the possibility of redemption. And more than a few of us need exactly that right now.
If that is the case, my bad and my humble apologies.
I just wanted to share what I thought other FReepers would appreciate.
Thanks for the heads up.
Absolutely beautiful! I wonder if my allergies are making my eyes water? Wishing you and yours a Very Merry CHRISTmas, my FRiend!!
Beautiful, thank you. Here is a link to their version of “O Holy Night”, it will give you shivers.

A very good rendition of a wonderful song of Salvation. Don’t know whether these are trained singers or not. I hope not. Several of them committed serious no-nos. An accomplished, trained vocalist NEVER inserts Hs into the words they are singing when moving up and down the scale from one note to the next. If I may, let me illustrate:
“A-ha-maaa-zi-hing Grace, how sweet the sound, tha-hat saved a-ha wretch li-hike me..... I-hi once wa-has lost, bu-hut now I-hime found; wa-has blind, bu-hut now I see.”
I’ll probably not be liked for pointing that out, but it’s true, none the less.
Simply beautiful.....tears streaming down cheeks.
You’ll appreciate this one...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQWXfHzOKUU
know cument.
This is Il Divo, I believe. The group was put together by Simon Cowell (American Idol) to create a ‘classical boy band’.
He has the voice of an angel doesn’t he? I can’t choose which version is my favorite....Il Divo or Josh Groban, both are beautiful. This has been my favorite Christmas carol since childhood, brings back memories of the choir singing at midnight Mass on Christmas Eve.
Thank you, dearest Ron!
If this isn’t the most beautiful rendition, I can’t think of the other.
Blessed and Merry CHRISTmas!
Beautiful! and Merry Christmas you Ron.
I believe that Amazing Grace will become the most enduring song of the English language, if it isn’t already.
But although John Newton wrote the words (except for the “modern” final verse, the one that begins “when we’ve been here ten thousand years”, which was apparently added later), he “borrowed” the melody from elsewhere.
Newton led a life nothing short of amazing, considering the depths to which he fell and the redemption he achieved, and it’s all in this song. Others spend lives trying to explain who they are and from whence they came. Newton gave us his life story in a few short verses....

I love Il Divo.

Il Divo is a group of four male singers: French pop singer Sébastien Izambard, Spanish baritone Carlos Marín, American tenor David Miller, and Swiss tenor Urs Bühler. To date, they have sold more than 26 million albums worldwide.[2]

You think I am going to argue with her? Hell no.
Yes, Grace.
:)
Awesome, such soul.
I think it’s my favorite also.
Thank you for the info and links. I must have been living in a cave because this is the first I have heard of them.
I'm very glad to have discovered them!
