This guy only needed four strings.

No Ritchie Blackmore. The list is deeply flawed.

The top 10 are all great guitarists.
I'd exclude Van Halen and include Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Personal preference: Eric Clapton.

This was voted on by “musicians”. Such as Melissa Ethridge and Lenny Kravitz.
ugh....
Jimi deserves it, but he freely admitted he couldn't tune it. In South America, the radio played lots of boots from back in the day. Most of Jimi’s were out of tune and awful. And Jimmy Page was just lousy on everything I ever heard that didn't come from a studio.
If it has to go to an old guy, I'd go Danny Gatton. But, there are a thousand people out there now we've never heard of.

Don't forget
Phil Keaggy (video). Jump to about 6:20 to see some beautiful work...and the man only has 9 fingers.

Get rid of the acid trips, lighter fluid, upside down guitar, hippie gear and BS mystic of dying young and you have a talented blues guitarist rendered suicide chump.
Best? Not even close.

Another guitarist that I like is George Barnes. Here he is playing with Jazz Gillum & His Jazz Boys on
Reefer Head Woman.
