Huntsman is not a conservative.
He believes in man made global warming.
He as governor granted driving privileges of illegals and supports amnesty.
Just to name a few conservative issues where he is off the rail.
While I’m not a Romney fan and would love to see the former Alaskan Governor head the ticket, no matter who the Republican nominee is, I’m gonna vote for them. Would rather have any of the Republican candidates in the White House than the current resident
I respectfully disagree. No candidate is perfect. You are BOUND to disagree with a candidate on SOMETHING. It’s the bigger picture that interests me. I’d happily stack Huntsman’s record up against any of the other candidates. He clearly IS a conservative.
He has taken a similar path on global warming to Newt Gingrich. It’s what he truly believes. If that’s a deal-breaker, that’s a deal-breaker. He isn’t pandering to the primary electorate like Romney.
He also served as Governor of Utah (his large approval ratings in such a conservative state, should tell us something, surely?), where practicalities often trump ideological purities. I disagree with him on that decision. But I’m sure there are stands that your candidate has taken that make you wince. ‘Supports amnesty’ is a bit of a leap though. Gingrich, as pointed out by Bachmann, is further to the left on this issue.
Huntsman is a conservative. Just my opinion, of course! In fact, I think he is the most electable conservative we have.
Thanks TheRobb7 — best idea for a FR topic in quite a while!
I continue to support Perry. And I’ve got the battle wounds to prove it.
