Seems to me that conservatives may as well stop talking about tea parties and a return to constitutional government if they’re going to turn around and vote for the single most inside the beltway guy in the race. I had believed that conservatives would actually have the courage to hold firm on their principles.

If by some miracle Newt got into the white house, I guarentee that in 6 months FReepers will be asking “What the hell did we do?”.

Newt—because we need another President who was born in Pennsylvania.

Full circle.

Newt’s our best bet.

Warts and all.

He can win. Gingrich/Cain works for me.

The commercial he did with Pelosi supporting global warming immediately comes to mind.

I’ve gone about 540 degrees on him. Liked him; disliked him; liked him a bit; would never consider voting for him.

No to Newt at the top of the ticket. I won’t go into the details right now, but he is not in alignment with TEA and not a movement conservative. We’re nearly guaranteed to have to spend money and time fighting him if we’re dumb enough to put him in the WH. He was a big part of what was going on in DC, and more specifically with the Republican Party, that led to Ross Perot’s 3rd party run. He’s smarter and more eloquent than Perry, but not any more trustworthy - maybe less so.

He could be useful as VP, but if he’s the pubbie nominee, I may find a 3rd party candidate to get behind.

I’d vote for Newt.

Had Cain pegged from the beginnng...he’s way over his head. He’d be a good Secretary of....something. Nothing more.

Newt/Bachmann or Newt/Santorum

I’d like to see Newt as president, Cain as vice-president (provided he can get his problems with women straightened out). Another alternative for vice president would be the governor of Virginia, but I’m not sure that president and VP both being from the same state is wise.

He’s the only one who can hit the ground at 100 mph and “git ‘er done”.

We need sudden and relentless reform and he can do it.

Cain will have at least a 2 year learning curve. We may only have 2 years to undo the Obama mess.

I’ll never forgive Sarah for quitting on us. Never.

There is strong feelings in DC, that if Dems pull a stunt that is feared, Rs will turn to Newt strongly.

Although I liked Cain, there is just something odd about him that I can’t put my finger on. I did a bit more reading up on the Contract With America days...actually, I’m liking Newt more and more; pretty clever man, but somewhat distanced from the Tea Party. Can he be sufficiently “educated” by convention time?

no way. but i’m glad he’s in because he’s probably taking support from the rinos.

he support an individual mandate for heathcare. no conservative could ever do that. he was neck deep in the “green” movement scam. again, simply immoral.

no way.

Newt is head and shoulders above everyone out there. I did come full circle with Newt. I was in the Perry corner, short lived..thought about Cain, he’s just foolish. Now I’m with Newt 100%. I have this sick feeling that Mitt gets the nomination...what a mess that will create. What a time for crappy options..other than Newt.

No. He’s a statist, another ruling class elitist. I think we’ve had quite enough of that, don’t you?
