BHO did not have the high negatives that Sarah Palin polls. Her personal numbers are like Hillary ... people either love her or hate her. She would not get a single democrat vote and not nearly as many independents as she would need. Her favorability with minorities is not good at all.

All politicians run internal polls that we never see. Again I will say that Palin did not have any numbers done by her people that indicated she had a chance at the presidency. The gallup poll that showed 76% of republicans didn't want her to run, even if 20 points high (which I doubt), was not not what a potential candidate wants to see.

I think the piece that a lot of Palin supporters were missing goes back to the college situation. I’m not someone who wants a Harvard lawyer as President. It would actually be good to say have a President who graduated from Nebraska, Marquette, Arizona State or any number of normal people schools.

However I would like that person to graduate in four or five years. Maybe with some honors. Palin went to something like five schools in six years.

Now you say what does that have to do with things? Well I go back to when she quit as Governor when the going got tough just as she quit all those colleges when presumably things got tough at those schools.

I could never reconcile that with all the Palin supporters here who kept attributing all these amazing conservative attributes to her. To me a conservative is all about working hard now for gratification later. Persevering. Not quitting. Doing mundane things knowing that in the long run they will add up and pay off.

I really liked her when she hit the scene. Waited in line three hours to see her and McCain in 2008. But the more I saw of her, the more she just seemed to be someone who wasn’t cut out to be a President. She Peter Principled at mayor of Wasilla.

Precisely. Palin is different, she always does the unconventional thing... ALWAYS. People don’t quit power, or walk away when it’s being handed to them. Palin knew she would have been welcomed onto the trail in a lovefest... SHE DOESN’T NEED THAT.

She is happy with her family, happy in her skin, happy with her marriage.

ANYONE WHO TRIES PROJECT ANYTHING OTHER THAN THAT IS REVEALING WHAT IS INSIDE THEM.

Frankly, I believe in the Jun/Aug timeframe, Palin HAD tentatively decided to run. The bus, the base in AZ, the high-level meeting in August, Bristol’s little revelation, the Iowa speech. But something happened. Probably a confluence of factors, from the renewed media assault to possible GOP Establishment warnings to Trig’s health to the other kids’ second-doubts.

I’m disappointed, but I’m a-ok with her decision in every way. If she were on the knife’s edge with this decision, and had any doubt, this was the correct route.

...people were not buying her books, selling out her speeches, and traipsing all over Iowa for who she was, but for who she could be.

Yes. It was never really personally about Palin.

Palin was drafted out of the blue, and delivered a knock out speech to a sell out crowd. Folks were desperate for an honest, fearless, common sense politician. Her looks didn't hurt matters, either.

That was three years ago.

A lot has happened since.

The statists went after her. The timid on our side refused to defend her. In fact they added to the attacks.

I believe Palin did try to live up to expectations, but in the end the naysayers won.

Now, good luck trying to find a patriotic politician. It was a hard task before. It will be impossible now. Look what happened to one who tried to be one. And look at the posers we are left with.

Family, God, and then country.

"OK Mz Palin, would you like yo know where your mother, father, and kids have been for the last 48 hours, and where they are now, or would you like to back off your presidential aspirations? Go ahead, we will give you time to decide."

All this maudlin, over the top aggrandizement of Sarah Palin tells me that a lot of people are really despairing and in need of something or someone to believe in. I guess it’s a sign of the times.

I think most folks here already know what they believe in. They're just tired of their politicians not representing their beliefs.

If the Media can destroy and defeat Sarah Palin, can you name me one Republican name they CAN’T destroy? The Media is apparently invincible & unbeatable.

WE are not enough, for any Conservative candidate.

They need political and legal protection, media protection, they need millions and millions, they need experts... and any novice certainly needs mentors and shepherding to certain degrees. (the Dems do this well)

As I said then, she should have had a GOP army camped out in her State upon her return to 08.

They let a political talent wither, and actively helped smother her in her crib.

In the end, candidates come and go...but the Republican Party's job is to work to cultivate them for our bench.

The GOP has failed one too many times on protecting its candidates AND its officeholders.

HOPEFULLY SHE WILL WRITE A ‘TELL ALL’ BOOK IN 2013...because something serious has put out the fire in her belly...

threats?....
dumb a$$ father of her grandson...
her parents?
her sisters and brother

the job takes a toll on all Presidents and Vice Presidents..personally I will be thrilled when Obama and family are voted to return to Chicago..I'm hoping he will be impeached then we won't have to support him and Michelle for the rest of their lives...

Not Herman Cain... he's the Magic Superman.

He needs no experience in Government. He's ready to command the American Military & nuclear arsenal right now!!

WE are the ones that put Ronald Reagan in office. The perception of him was not that much different than the perception of Palin.

What the media did to Palin was criminal.

If anyone doesn’t think the media has a large influence on who will get elected, then they are in denial.

The MSM would never, ever allow Palin to win.

Look at the lengths they’ve gone to and are still going to in an attempt to ruin her and her reputation.

There’s a saying - “You can’t fight City Hall”

Nor can you fight 90% of the MSM that has an unhinged hatred for you and will flat out lie about you while failing to report anything positive about you. (Lying by omission)

3 years later and they are still out to get her.

Imagine if she decided to run - any verbal gaffe would be run 24/7 while Obama gets a free pass.

Sadly, perception equals reality, and the MSM has made Palin out to be a caricature of herself, while propping up a disaster of a President that they didn’t vett or ask a tough question, nor do they call him out when he blames his predecessor on his inability to do his job.

Read this article to get a taste of how the MSM would treat Palin compared to Obama if you don’t believe me:

I agree that the the George Soros elements of the left WOULD kill to achieve their ends. In fact, the Failure’s buddy Ayers conceded once that 25 million independent thinkers who refused to bow to the socialist regime may have to be killed one day. Bob
