Thank you, Michael Barone. Thad McCotter should be there. He should be on the networks. McCotter is not a caricature.

He’s on my short list. I’ve mentioned his name a few times. Usually get a “he’s not running” sort of look.
Why not let McCotter in the debates? He can’t be worse that Huntsman. I still can’t figure out whose money Huntsman is wasting with this vanity run for President.
>> That said, McCotter would be good in debates
Agreed. He’s brilliant.
The common area shared by unions and liberty is unfortunately not that vast. However virtuous McCotter’s effort is at home, his affinity to unionism would create a problem for him in the primaries.
I like McCotter, and I generally don’t have a problem with private sector unions save the thuggery, intimidation, and alliances with Communism.
I just listened to McCotter address the Beverly Hills Tea Party about 2 hours ago. He’s a pretty good speaker. I was intrigued. But watching him interact with people afterward, I could see that he is a thorough politician. You know, moves past people rather briskly, gravitates to a few photo ops, polite but removed, and then into the waiting white SUV to be whisked away. Ben Shapiro also addressed the crowd, but he hung around a good hour afterward, chatting with people.
I don’t think its exactly fair to judge someone and say they are a “true politician” by the way they move through a crowd. I know McCotter a bit, and he’s about as far from that description as one could be be. He’s pretty intense, but can be quite engaging, is known for a quick, dry wit and is quite an intellectual. Brings his band to political appearances, so he’s not a glad hander or a baby kisser. believe me, he’s one of a kind. Its quite possible that he was on a pretty tight schedule. Keep up to date with him on McCotter2102.com, watch his videos and listen to his radio appearances. I think you’ll change your mind.
Oh, I could tell he’s intelligent, and I’ve been tooling around on youtube for the last half hour “getting to know him.” I see that dry wit. He’s certainly interesting. I was a little shocked that he’s the same age I am. He comes across older. But he is a very adept, almost effortless public speaker. I would like to see him at the debates. I’m not wild about lawyers, and I understand that’s what he was before entering politics... but... I’ll keep an open mind. If he can get into the race and get some visibility, that would be good.
I appreciate the openmindedness. I truly believe that we, as a country, are not in a position to ignore any Conservative with a fresh approach. I also don’t believe that the voting public will ignore someone because they are NOT charismatic. The country got burned by one “PACKAGED” candidate who won. I don’t think they’ll get sold on another.
And I should be the last person to reject anyone for being intense and not terribly approachable, because I'm one of those stone-faced loners that give people the creeps. I spend most of my time drifting around staring at people like a vampire in search of its next victim. (I'm usually just thinking about my finances, but I've been told I look like I'm plotting something horrid.)
He’d be in the debates if he had poll numbers. If you lower the bar to include McCotter you have to add Johnson and Karger and others.

.
Ronald Reagan was the head of a union and said union membership was a fundamental human right. Besides McCotter said he wouldn’t vote for card check if it came up again. Do these government union members look like they consider McCotter their pal?

Its good to know that McCotter has the “vampire” vote wrapped up. LOL
