If I am not mistaken this failure took place in 1912, the same year that unusually large amounts of icebergs sand the Titanic. The weather was probably abnormally cold because of upper atmosphere ash from the great Katmai/Novarupta eruption.

Yes, I saw Branagh’s magnificent job in Shackleton.
If cold winters are bothering you, you may be living in the wrong state, LOL!
I have seen horses go for sausage pizza, thought it was the attraction of the salt.
