Been enjoying your funnies and devotions, Dubya.
Sending up prayers for strength, pain relief and healing.
During my seminary years, I directed a summer day camp for boys and girls at the YMCA. Each morning, I began the day with a brief story in which I tried to incorporate an element of the gospel.
To help illustrate that becoming a Christian means to become a new creation in Christ, I told a story about a moose that wanted to be a horse. The moose had seen a herd of wild horses, thought them elegant creatures, and wanted to be like them. So he taught himself to act like a horse. However, he was never accepted as a horse because he was . . . well, a moose. How can a moose become a horse? Only by being born a horse, of course. And then I would explain how we can all be born again by believing in Jesus.
One summer I had a staff counselor named Henry who was very hostile to the faith. I could do nothing but love him and pray for him, but he left at the end of the summer hardened in unbelief. That was more than 50 years ago. A few years ago I received a letter from Henry. The first sentence said: I write to tell that I have been born again and now, at last, I am a horse. This confirmed to me that we need to keep praying and planting the seed of the Word (Mark 4:26) so that it may bear fruit one day.
Read: Mark 4:26-32
Good Morning to you!

Prayers up my FRiend, nothing is to big for HIM to remove. We pray oh, Lord, Father of us all that you will remove this cancer from our dear, dear, friend. Earthly doctors may give up, but we know YOU are the most powerful physician in the universe and nothing is beyond Your power. In the name of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.
Pain still about the same, said it could take up to 2 weeks to work....boo hoo, am tired of this inactivity, and not being able to sit for more than a few minutes at a time. Lying on your tummy is BORING, especially if there is nothing on tv worth watching. How many DIY shows can a woman watch when she ‘can’ get the remote from hubby who watches mostly sports, and cars.
Amen to your beautiful prayer, Gail.
Prayers you are doing better
Here's a cute little jingle for you:
Cleaning Poem
I asked the Lord to tell me Why
my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'puttering',
And I had to answer "yes."
He told me to get off my fanny
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.
I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work...
I didn't mean to 'click.'
But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site
That I got SO way into...
I was into it all night.
Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess..
While I sit here on my hiney.
Gotta clean my mouse! LOL
Between the computer, genealogy and a 6th grader, my days are not long enough for all I want to do; all I should do and all that I really need to do. :)
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED. |
; )
Wearing Red for our Troops, today
And, Praying for rain for all our FRiends in the drought stricken areas!
So beautiful, yorkie...Thank you for the rain prayers.
James 4:8 “Draw nigh to God and God will draw nigh to you ... and
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and he will lift you up.”
