I was the soundman for a band while I was in high school. We were to open for Looking Glass at the Chemung County Fair (NY, 1975). Since there were no real amenities, being a fairly rural upstate area back then, they decided they wanted to appear first then get on their bus to NYC. We had to tear down our entire setup. Naturally we were pi**ed. There were these huge canvas strips that reached across the horsetrack from the grandstand to the stage. About the time that they came on stage a whole bunch of low-lying black clouds swept up out of nowhere and dumped right on the stage. I remember the keyboard player upending his Fender Rhodes and watching the water gush out. I was 17 and laughing my a** off. Karma.
