Nice to know I’m not the only one still keeping MB on the top of my list. My God, after reading through some of these threads, people are labeling her everything from a “phoney”, a “stalking horse for Romney”, a “RINO”, etc, etc. This is utter BS. And they’re pulling the same crap with Herman Cain also. People have twisted his words to make him sound anti-2nd amendment. The more threads I read bashing them, the more I notice they tend to come from the supporters of a particular candidate who have the “my candidate or screw it” attitude.

Seriously, these people feel so insecure that another capable conservative might actually exist out there and make a better case to be POTUS. Palin is a conservative, but not the only one. It’s a shame Palin’s probably going to take her time to get into the race because we are going to get deprived of evaluating her on a stage in a debate with the other conservatives running. I was really looking forward to the interactions between Cain, Bachmann, and Palin. But I guess it wouldn’t matter anyway because the “Palin or bust” folks will probably respond to any debate result the way the Paulbots do, regardless of how the other conservatives do.

My Picks:
1. Michelle Bachmann
2. Sarah Palin
3. Herman Cain
4. Tim Pawlenty

No-Go’s
1. Newt
2. Romney
3. Paul / Johnson
4. Perry (lol @ Rush, you prop this guy up on Radio and Fox News, then after he seriously considers, you warn conservatives that they have to get over some of his views such as the Dream Act. WTH? What was the point of throwing his name out there Rush?)

...."If Perry enters I'd be more interested in him since TX seems to be doing comparatively well.".......

We have always done better in Texas, that's not because of Perry.

We have always had no income tax. We have always been "right to work". We have had oil for 100 years. We got NASA from Johnson. There are just many different reasons Texas has their skids greased for decades. Perry would have to be some kinda Obama commie to hurt Texas. The income tax has surfaced multiple times hand has been defeated. As governor, Perry just has to stay out of the way and keep his hair combed to look good. You can't be politically tone deaf and vote for some kinda gun control or a tax hike. Other than that, a dart aimed at the phone book could get a good governor. Perry was on board the TX corridor better know as the Nafta highway. He tip toed through that minefield somehow and survived, but it just kept failing in multiple votes. He has garnered some support by agreeing with AZ on immigration problems, but not running off the Hispanic vote. We are just blessed here in Texas with people that are more conservative than your average Attila the Hun. When someone strays from the fold, they are quickly whacked on the skull.

IMHO, Perry is a RINO in his core, but has been throttled back by the issues that he knows Texas gets agitated about. Being a good politician isn't always what a conservative is looking for. We have to look into a candidates core to see how they will react when something unexpected comes up. Perry may look more like a Dem when in a national spotlight. He just makes me nervous.

Having said all this about Perry, he would be in the top 3 or 4 of my choices if Palin doesn't run. We could do worse with a few we have running. I think he has political instincts that would correct a perceived problem when voters start to squeal. It doesn't make him a dynamic leader, but I don't think he would give us something like Obama care with 60% not wanting it. Someone like Romney would think we are too ignorant to know how much we need what smart law he wants to foist upon the masses and keep pushing when we are about to get the pitch forks. He's not perfect, but who is?
