So my question for you is: How do I get just the black lines and text from the first document onto the second document without also creating those white halo thingamuhjiggers and without snagging pieces of the purple and pink stuff?

There are techniques available in Photoshop that can do that. It can be tedious and time consuming, but it can be done. In the absolute worst case, you can blow up the image to the point at which you can edit individual pixels. By adjusting the brightness and contrast on an image, you can make a lot of the background noise go away. But when you do that, guess what? You get image elements that look EXACTLY like the the "61 1064" portion of the certificate number, with a very sharp demarcation between black and white. But the same process wasn't done on the final "1" of that number. It is very different.

I've spent a lot of time restoring old graphic images using Photoshop, and I've seen these things many, many times. Whatever document they were working from DID NOT HAVE THE NUMBER "61 10641" on it originally. The final "1" was created from within Photoshop probably using the text tool. By cranking up the contrast, that fuzziness around that number would have gone away, but they never bothered to do that.

Download the birth certificate from the White House. http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/rss_viewer/birth-certificate-long-form.pdf Then zoom in on it. I can’t get the “one” to disappear as the guy did in the YouTube video, but there sure is a heck of a difference between that last “one” and all the other numbers on the page. When zoomed, the last digit is clearly different than any other digit on the page.

Try it yourself ... you’ll quickly see the difference.
Why are all the other numbers on that document solidly filled in with pixels and that last digit fades under magnification?

Now try this. Hit CTRL and move your mouse wheel to zoom in and out. As you are zooming/unzooming, all the numbers and other print on the page disappear during the process EXCEPT the “ONE”. What’s with that? This happens as your computer is zooming/unzooming. But watch how all printing disappears during the zoom/unzoom process except the “ONE”.

What would make that happen?

I’d say that the black and white scan is a very high resolution scan and probably is first generation with little to no “lossy” compression resulting in a very crisp, clean, very legible birth certificate in the first place.

I think the Obama birth certificate was scanned by someone not overly concerned with resolution or compression and the degradation of the image. Add the fact that the final version we got today is probably 3rd or 4th generation and you have a very compressed-looking image.

Why do you think that Obama ordered a new long form birth certificate?

Do you think that he lost the one he talks about in one his books? He said he found it accidentally as a teenager.

I find it strange that the President of the United States lost his long form birth certificate, or that he never had one until he got one from Hawaii in April 2011.

My suggestion to Obama: Allow a group of reporters---4 to 5---representing the major media like Foxnews, CBS, CNN, NBC, and CBS to visit the Hawaii agency that has your long form birth certificate so that they can touch it, examine it, and photograph it in order to verify that the long form birth certificate you released on April 27, 2011 is authentic.

Hum. Interesting. I didn’t know they manipulated the birh certificates into volumes. That would make it hard to forge now wouldn’t it? At the same time easier to forge if the person with the combo has been compromised somehow.

Interesting that Hannity reported that Onaka keeps it in a safe. Why would he need to? No one is supposed to have access to it anyway right?
