Advocating removal of the cop would be justice. Claiming compensation from tax payer is corruption
That was not a cop but a slimey. POS that should lose his badge, license and job for that load of BS!
Mark my words, that cretin in uniform will get what for in due time. If Life has taught me anything, it is that you get back what you send out into the world and these power mad, jack-asses in uniform are just begging for cosmic retribution.
With sincere apologies to all the good law enforcement folks out there, but this diatribe is directed to those who abuse their position rather than uphold the law.
The suit should be against the LEO Union and not the city.
The unions keep bad patrolman on the streets.
“He GRABBED you?
If he actually put his hands on you, this is assault. And this is why he turned all nice. He realized what hed done.”
I doubt it. State laws could vary but I believe when a person is pulled over for a traffic stop, they are technically under arrest, or legally detained, or something like that. A person just can’t walk away. I’m sure Fishtalk is a nice person and all, but we’re only getting one side of the story, not that it would matter to the FR cop haters.
I see nothing wrong wit tooting a horn to let a cop or anybody know thatthe light has changed. Cop was a jerk. Lots of cops are jerks. Some are born that way, some are made that way by the job.
The problem is....
WAY too many of us have had similar situatons or worse - without EVER having a positive cop expereince.
Now - they exist to protect themselves. their unions, and their government -from us.
Sounds like he needs to be told what for.
I know. I really don’t think I would ask a patrol officer to move. If this traffic stop was motivated by vengeance, the judge should identify and squash it.
We must hold our keepers of the law to a high level.
Are you the resident bootlicker?
Nah! Don’t get messed up on this. To be real, there is not one person here that would blast their horn at an officer on patrol. What is he to think................
Very narrow minded MMT.
This is not a story. Call it what you want. NON-Sequitur comes to mind.
Well, I really don’t know how to respond to your story, since you start by swearing that you’re making it up. A typo or just seeing if we’re paying attention?
Anyhow, I beeped and my son was mortified, convinced we would go to jail. Though he did hear my beep, the cop didn't give me a glance. Like he does that sort of thing all of the time.
Ah. That explains it.
Delaware troopers all suffer from "small state complex".
I’m sorry. If I said I was making it up it’s an error.
I do that as a cute effect, like Dave Berry. But if you leave out a word it kind of matters, huh?
No, it’s a true story.
Oh wow, I got a lot of responses AFTER I shut down and went to bed.
You know, I thought of doing just that. Except, well way I figgered, 911-they’re cops right?
I got worried they would collaborate with the guy.
But I did come so close.
And btw, husband can, of course, verify my story. He heard every word the cop said. Husband is a bit of a wimp and he was absolutely terrified the cop would maybe shoot me.
I know that’s a bit far-fetched but husband was scared to death about this...that the cop, who was obviously so full of himself and it came across via the cell phone lines...the cop would get a real attitude and figure I might need to be calmed down with a bullet.
I know someone else said about so many bad cop experiences and this is just so true any more. My husband practically sobs when he hears stories of cops shooting pet dogs.
And you do hear this a lot. Seems they don’t want to be bothered with calming, putting away the pet. Hey, MY dog would bark at a cop come to the door...it’s what dogs do.
But you read so often where the cop, boom, takes out his or her gun and shoots the poor dog. Heartbreaking. Husband was terrified this cop was going to shoot ME.
You all heard the story of the Delaware basketball pole? This horrific incident also involved a Del. state trooper. Glen Beck covered it.
He GRABBED me Auntie Mame....he put his hands on me. He not only grabbed me, he pulled me back to my Jeep and shoved me into the drivers seat.
I know who he is. I’m still pondering what to do.
Tears spring to my eyes over your and other responses.
This really happened to me...just this past Weds 4/20/11. Husband is complete witness...he was on my cell phone the whole time.
He thought the cop was waaaaaaaaaay, waaaaaay out of bounds and was terrified I’d either be shot or taken to jail.
Like I said, I was once married to a Baltimore city cop. I know how cops are supposed to act. My ex-spouse was a stellar cop, keeping the peace in a crime-filled city.
First off, ex-husband would REFUSE to be part of any job that had him sitting and babysitting state traffic controllers but here in Delaware of late this is what they do.
Yeah, it was horrible behavior and I daresay no normal Freeper I know would have thought it was just A-ok.
