A Christian sports reporter was visiting a major league baseball clubhouse. While he was chatting with a Christian player, a team official came by and noticed that they were talking about Christian stuff after a tough loss. He scolded the reporter for not talking about the game and then he left. The All-Star pitcher said to the reporter, Sorry. He just doesnt get it.
We live in a world of people who dont get it. They dont understand that while we strive to be the best at what we do, the most important thing in life is to please God. For the believer, it is for Gods glory and the gospel of Jesus that we play ball, sell insurance, run a printing press, or teach school.
In 1 Corinthians 9, Paul explained that the disciple of Christ should endure all things lest we hinder the gospel of Christ (v.12). The goal of the believer is getting the word out about Jesus. Woe is me if I do not preach the gospel! he said (v.16). One way to do that is to live out a godly lifestyle that prompts others to ask about the hope that is in us (1 Peter 3:15).
Around us are people who think the things of this world are most important. But instead of becoming frustrated at the resistance we meet, our goal should be to advance the gospel by helping others to get it.
Read: 1 Corinthians 9:11-23
OK, son, Im finished. Get me back to my car and you can go home.
Yes, maam. If I may ask, were those your kinfolk?
She paused. Yes, Donald Davidson was my father, Stephen was my uncle, Stanley was my husband, Larry and Darrel were our sons. All killed in action, all Marines.
Thank you, Dubya.
I LOVE this pix.. thank you
and thank you for all the other great things you share here so regularly.. wonderful
Making yours larger,
takes out the clarity of the graphic
It's a great picture, though!
It is the things that come out of our mouths that are bad for us, in God's eyes.

Hebrews 12:3-11 (King James Version)
3For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
5And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.’

I am relatively new to it. I was a poster on the Belevedore Room Poems thread before Amy's began. It was sad to see it leave. It leaves a hole in ones day.
God bless you and keep you and shine his countenance upon you and give thee peace.
Thank you for the help.
WOW ... powerful, Dubya. Yes ... I needed to grab the box of kleenex. Thank you.
God Bless and Protect our Military. Freedom is not Free.
You are very welcome. Here is how you make a graphic appear larger, on your post:
When you type in your “img src”(and then paste in your link), do a preview and right click on the picture you are going to post.
Then click “properties” and check the pixel size of your picture.
If it is 100 high, and you want it larger, here is what you do: right after where you see “jpg” or “gif” in your reply, make one space, and then type in “height=150” without the quotes. (jpg height=150).
Make sure you keep it in the brackets.
It may take some practice, but once you get it, you will do it all the time. GOOD LUCK!
“And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”

How wonderful .. to do all, as to the LORD! ... and not to men.
Whether it be cleaning a toilet, or driving to work, or standing in line, or preparing income tax forms. To operate our life with the knowledge God is with us all the time, He knows our thoughts, ...
when we become conscious of his presence it does change us. Our hearts are changed when we come to believe He is and redeems us, and we begin to be conformed to the image of Christ.
No one ever said it would be easy. We have a share in the sufferings of Christ as did all the apostles.
Abba Father, we turn to thee. Amen

mrsdd and I went to our grandson's JV baseball game yesterday afternoon.
I'm sitting there and glanced over to my right and saw a gentleman approaching wearing a "Vietnam Veteran" baseball cap.
I stepped down from my bleacher seat and walked to him and told him, "Thank you for serving our great country and Welcome Home."
He replied, "Thank you. I appreciated that."
He later came up to me (I was wearing my USS PIEDMONT (AD-17) baseball cap adorned with three pins, an American Flag, A Second Class Crow, and A Diving helmet) and he said, "You were a Second Class?" I affirmed. "When did you get out?" "'67." "That's when it was just heating up". I nodded and he thanked me.
I don't seek recognition, but I go out of my way to offer a word of thanks to any and all Veterans. The only active duty personnel here work at the recruiting stations or the local Guard unit so we rarely see anyone in uniform. They too get a special thank you.
Hand Salute........two.
