Woman’s Day and Birds and Blooms. The pictures are just so beautiful in Birds and Blooms, and Woman’s Day is just IMHO the best of the women’s mags.

My son reads Motor a trade mag. That’s it.

I will tell you why people are not buying magazines these days. From this week’s Time:

“If you think about it, his perspective as growing up in Kenya with a Kenyan father and grandfather, their view of the Mau Mau revolution in Kenya is very different than ours.”

— Mike Huckabee, former Arkansas governor, stating incorrectly in a radio interview that President Obama grew up in Kenya; he later issued a statement saying he “misspoke” and “meant to say Indonesia,” where the Hawaii-born Obama spent some childhood years.

As you can see, Time still cannot bring themselves to admit Obozo’s true birthplace. And they wonder why their circulation is down to 90,000 copies a week.

I think coin magazines and other trade publications are still popular as you need a constant update in prices and info and many internet sites don’t list all the relevant information.

When I started playing bass back in 1998 I bought a couple of copies of Bass Player for a couple of flights. Other than that, I think it was sometime in the 70’s. All of my exposure to magazines is business, doctor and dentist lobbies.

I do have a few stacks of Model Car magazine from the 60’s. I was pretty into that sort of thing back then.

Six months ago I subscribed to a magazine called “Elections and Campaigns.” Since I plan to run for office, I thought it would help. It’s interesting, but not as interesting as I hoped it would be

Sometimes I’ll pick up a couple before traveling. I like having something light to read on the plane. Usually I’ll get somethig photography related, and perhaps a National Geographic or something similar.
