Yorkie to the rescue!!!!! :) Sure the Hummingbird is VERY grateful!! Way to go, Yorkie!!
I’ve been reading your posts about altzheimers.
They are still doing lab work, but my brother’s doctor thinks he is suffering from early stage altzheimers. He is still here but staying at his daughter’s. She needed to do some shopping today so she brought him here this morning. He said he needed some excercise and I have a perfect place for a long walk.
He gets confused but so far he remembers most things. The other day he did forget his ATM password. :) Good way to save money.
I will ask for prayers for my 69 YO brother as I pray for your dad, LTOS.
And "What's Cookin'?"
Whatever your lil ol' heart desires!
Doctor: "What happened?"
Woman: "Doctor, I don't know what to do. Every time my husband comes home drunk he beats me to a pulp."
Doctor: "I have a real good medicine for that. When your husband comes home drunk, just take a glass of sweet tea and start swishing it in your mouth.
Just swish and swish but don't swallow until he goes to bed and is asleep."
Two weeks later, the woman comes back to the doctor looking fresh and reborn.
Woman: "Doctor, that was a brilliant idea! Every time my husband came home drunk, I swished with sweet tea. I swished and swished, and he didn't touch me!"
Doctor: "You see how much keeping your mouth shut helps?"
Alzheimers is a very ugly thing!
Most of those I posted yesterday were 'old' ones - pam's, potlatch's, teenie's were new, as well as a new one for jaycee (I like the new one better) :)
Pam, I think it's obvious why your teddy is a cheerleader. :)
Is it also obvious why mine is a cook? LOL! *BIG grin*
LOL!! Good one! :)
I have three teddy bears that are on display all year. One, is about three and a half feet tall (and just as round), and he sits in an antique wood wagon, with children’s books from the turn of the Century. His name is Colly-Wobble, and he has been with me for a LONG time.
Then, I have ‘Jane”, who is a very old bear who sits next to a vintage rocking horse from the 20’s, on top of my corner computer cabinets.
The oldest one is from the 1800’s - I think he is a Bing, but not sure. I bought him at a garage sale about 15 years ago. His coat is mohair, and he is stuffed with straw, and has a stitched on nose, and paws, with movable joints on his shoulders, head and hips. His name is Mister Willoughby.
Hopefully, I shall take a couple pictures, and post them sometime soon.
What a darling graphic and pretty frame with it! Thank you!!
This is Mister Willoughby

And this is Colly-Wobble,

And this is Miss Jane,
(Sitting up high,
keeping watch over all)
*******
They tell me
It is their pleasure
To meet you all!
I enjoy the look of 'old fashioned' photos!
Well it’s a pleasure to meet them, too! Awesome collection, Yorkie! Thank you for sharing them with us!!
Me, too! Love pictures of old barns, most of all! Don’t know why!!
Prayers for your brother, my dear friend.
My uncle passed away last night. Bill was a Navy Veteran of WW2. I drove a PT Boat. In fact, he was in the boat that brought Gen MacArthur back to the Philippines. Since MacArthur wanted to wade through knee deep water in triumph, Uncle Bill had to bring the boat dangerously close to the beach, and after the General disembarked the sailors began to talk among themselves. Someone recognized my Uncle’s Boston Accent, and the two began to compare notes. Turns out they were long-lost first cousins!
I grew up with these stories!
RIP, Uncle Bill. A member of the Greatest Generation.
