It’s 4.9 degrees F here about 15 miles southeast of Boston with around 2 feet of Global Warming out on my front yard.

The Earth has a fever.

I’ve spent more than a little time in central Ohio. Go east out of Columbus in the fall towards Granville on country roads in the fall before the leaves drop. “Beautiful” doesn’t do it justice. Best fall leaves and scenery ANYWHERE.

It was surreal, the way the sound traveled through the air.

Interesting, since the lowest temp I've ever felt was +7F. How would you describe the change in the way sound carried.

“An arctic blast from Canada ....”

Sure, sure — blame Canada.

I might be heading to the Maine coast within the next couple of weekends, either that or the White Mountains of NH.

Either way i hoping for a Blizzard.
Would make the trip 100 times more cooler.

The Maine coast will be nice and quiet although everything will be closed. North Conway will be crowded and crawling with people. Ugly traffic jams. Take your pick. Have great Fun!!!

...wind chill we had up to 100 below zero.

That's beyond my comprehension.

Looking at the

http://www.mountwashington.org/weather/conditions.php

Mount Washington NH weather conditions, it looks like it is almost at the extreme conditions that it had during my most severe Washington’s birthday expedition there, back in the mid-80’s.

Once you’ve felt cold like that - normal winter weather doesn’t compare.

Somehow I doubt you just want to chat.....

Aloha Little Devil; Steely eyed Downeaster; Ass kicker for our Troops!

In chats with Michigan and upstate NY today, the weather reports were for cold, more cold and some more cold.

The recent snow falls are 'crunchy' when walking on them....which means it's really cold.

Wow! I’ve always heard they had crazy weather there but seeing that in real time just chilled me to the bone.

You could hear things from a distance incredibly clearly. Normal conversation easily understood from 100 feet away, it seemed. Every footstep in the know sounded like car tires on a gravel driveway. It was amazing.

It is pretty nice east of the city. I live in Hilliard, so we see a whole lot of flat.

It sure does get cold, but Maine is beautiful, even Aroostook County.

It’s snowed 19 of 23 days here in January in WI. It’s one of the coldest months I can remember — though not in absolute terms, since it’s just been consistently cold rather than hitting record lows.
