About furbabies, we had one disappear for 5 days after our Sunday blizzard. He just showed up last night. Scared me to death!
A Happy New Year to you too!
Ahhh. I've tried that too. You can never go home. Not really. :(
I have found some really good recipes online. And I enjoy the hunt but don’t search while hungry! lol
It was. He has a wacky sense of humor like the rest of us. But the poor guy doesn't know what to call us. He never had Grandma read stories to him like he saw me do for the little ones on Christmas. It's lovely but tentative.
Thank you for the tip. I’ll have to hint to Hubby. :-)
Ahh, the hell with ‘em, you know?
I’ve been down there digging with a shovel, with a rake, with a shovel, rake, a rifle on my back AND my new snowshoes on-—as near as I can tell they are sleeping with the sea salt!
Five hundred bucks is a heckuva bunch of money to me, I’m not pretending otherwise. That kind of stupidity-—being careless-—can just eat me up.
But they are a good. A possession. Material object. This morning I was out there with the big shoes on, hiking through the trackless hills and long draws, rising sun gleaming off the snow-covered pine trees, and you couldn’t have asked for a sweeter, more peaceful, more beautiful scene to be a part of.
Even if the glare did hurt my eyes...HA!
I know, you’d think these companies would notice a drop in sales. So many products that used to be good are now bad. I also don’t like Kraft mac-n-cheese anymore.
Have a Happy New Year!
I hear that. But that soup was one thing that hadn't changed. Until recently. I cannot for the life of me duplicate some of the things my Grandma made. The last time I had a can of that soup, it was the same. Oh well.
The world is coming to an end.
Sea salt in Campbell’s Soup.
However shall we survive?
That is sad, but it’s also a wonderful, wonderful thing that he now has you in his life. What a Christmas Miracle it is.
I use the turkey carcass to make Cream of Turkey Soup.
Turkey A La King (simple fast and yummy)
Saute:
1-6oz can mushrooms (drain and reserve 1/4 Cup liquid)
1/2 Cup green pepper
1/2 Cup butter
Add and stir until bubbly:
1/2 Cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Remove from heat and add:
2 Cups cream or milk
1-3/4 Cup chicken broth (2 bullion to 1-3/4 Cup water)
2 Cups turkey or chicken
1 4 oz pimento (optional)
Serve on toast, noodles or rice.
I think the issue was asmall company, not Campbell’s.
I hear you. You’ve got the right attitude. Material things mean nothing compared to our health and the health of our loved ones. One can always buy another pair of sunglasses-well, cheap ones, anyway. :)
I hear that. Sometimes I sit here and glance up and am graced with the loveliest pink and gold sunsets. And in the morning I see the sun glittering through tree limbs as it rises. It sparkles off the snow on the tree branches. Some people never see the beauty because they don't look.
High in vitamin baleen.
Happy New Year !
I think our taste changes too.
I used to enjoy prepared foods that now seem full of sugar and salt. Campbells chicken noodle soup, canned chili, etc. If I eat it now, I need 2 glasses of water to wash it down and rehydrate.
Yes. He came to see us about a week before Christmas. He said my house was peaceful and quiet and proceeded to fall asleep for 16 hours on my couch. He had been complaining about not being able to sleep and he just drifted off. We gave him a pillow and blanket and let him sleep. He woke up a happy camper. Said he hadn't slept like that for a long time and that he was comfortable here. That's a miracle.
I'm not as into chocolate either. A lot of sweets are simply too sweet. I noticed a 3rd helping of leftovers isn't appreciated by my system either. I can eat something twice but a 3rd time is a no-no.
