:’) The PreColumbian prehistory as well as history is the same as the prehistory and history everywhere else in the world. For example, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan a tribe from what is now NY state arrived (led by the “vision” of a shaman) and fought those who were already there in what is remembered as the Rice Wars (this would be what we call “wild rice”, which grows right under the ice). The local tribes around here were invaded by tribes from the western shore of Lake Michigan, who crossed in great numbers by boat (obviously), a century or so before us sodbusters showed up.

About ten years ago (maybe longer?) I read about one of the abandoned PreColumbian structures; it had been divided rather crudely by new walls, as if two factions couldn’t agree to share everything and couldn’t stand the sight of each other. Then, sometime not long after, there was a massacre, which included cannibalism of those killed.
