“The “experts” said that the pit bulls maiming and killing people were blameless?
If so, they’re experts in propaganda.”<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<,
No. They are rational human beings that realize dumb animals have no morals, and are products of their environments. Breeding can only take things so far. If genes were all it took, we would have lots more fatalities, because the majority of dog breeds were created to kill, fight, hunt, chase, and bite other living things.
Training and socialization is what shows these animals the right and wrong way to live. Dogs lacking this most basic essential courtesy develop dangerous habits, and if not stopped, are a threat to ANY living thing.
Like cobras.
and are products of their environments
The liberal's ultimate excuse.
Again, try to find a single study that is both in support of your opinion, and conducted by reputable, educated individuals. Rhetoric such as your comment above just makes you look silly. Cobras? Liberals? Really?
If your argument consists solely of cheap shots and wild comparisons, you have a long way to go before anyone will take you seriously. Please, by all means, continue....you are quite entertaining.
My opinion that pit bulls are disproportionately the cause of dog attacks resulting in human maiming and fatalities? You've already admitted that NONE of your "experts" disagree with those FACTS.
Keep shooting yourself in the foot.
You don’t care why more pit bulls are on the list, and I am assuming you believe the breed is inherently vicious, otherwise you would not have bothered. Am I correct in that assumption?
If not, then what is your position?
You don't care about the victims that pit bulls are disproportionately responsible for maiming and killing.
“You dont care why more pit bulls are on the list”<<<<<<<
That was my question. I am guessing since you put it that way, it must be true.
“You don’t care about the victims that pit bulls are disproportionately responsible for maiming and killing.”<<<<<<<<
I care about EVERY dog attack. That’s why I think it’s important to address the issue, instead of hiding behind a breed of dog, as if this same tired, idiotic argument hasn’t been used for DECADES with several other breeds. I want responsible dog ownership laws passed that cover ALL dog owners, because I don’t give a rat’s behind what pit bull numbers are compared to other breeds, as long as they’re not increasing the total. I don’t want there to BE numbers, and the only way for this to become a reality is to DEMAND accountability from the only living things that have the ability to give it!
I would be interested in your theory on why 19 people died last year at the mouths of non pit-bull type dogs. Your argument doesn’t even address this. Do you think those were all freak accidents? All those dogs, the weimaraner, the great dane, the several husky/malamute/sled dogs, boxers, lab mix, collie mix, australian cattle dog mix, chow, bullmastiff, the wild dogs in packs, they attacked people, mostly children and babies, until they were dead. They did not stop, even when others tried to intervene. They simply continued until there was no life left. Yet, the same irresponsible actions that caused the deaths associated with pit bulls caused these deaths (chained dogs, dogs running loose, dogs in packs, dogs alone with babies, breeding pairs, dams with puppies). The same exact circumstances produced the same exact results, and the ONLY difference was breed.
Why is it alright to allow these other tragedies to exist, as long as they aren’t caused by the breed you personally dislike? Why not try to eliminate deaths from ALL breeds? The only way to do that is through the owners, and the proof is in places like Calgary, where dog attacks, even serious ones, have DECLINED due to laws that target owners. Denver, the UK, and places in Florida have breed bans, and have seen ZERO decrease in serious attacks (the UK, soon to repeal their ban, has seen drastic increases in attacks, and now have more “bad” breeds than they did before passing the laws!). Different breeds with the same loser owners creates the same situation, over and over and over again.
