AC is an asshat but it’s it’s a smart strategy. Andy is doing all the work now. AC will attack at some point and it remains to be seen if Andy can match him.

How often has the overall winner not won a stage?

Keep pushing, Andy, keep pushing! Someone’s gotta break.

He certainly doesn’t get the stage wins like Lance and the other historical TDF Champs.

Schleck tries again and cannot shed AC.

Not very, more common is to win 1 or 2, ala Lance and Contador.

Lance had several TdFs where he won only 2 Stages.

But 22 overall and 25 if you count team TT

He would also win some TT’s and the team TT’s.

I know it is riding style difference only, but Shleck is in the saddle and looking calm, while Contador is out of the seat and peddling hard. so it looks like Contador is struggling to keep up when he is not.

Contador definitely doesn’t look as smooth as he usually does on the climbs... certainly not turning circles at this point

True.

So LA’s 25 stage wins includes TTTs?

Shleck digging again.. looking over his shoulder as if to say “dammit! How are you still here?”

Levi has dropped, Horner is in the second group still.

Contador is pushing a bigger gear (pedaling at 75rpm) while Schleck is turning the pedals over at 97rpm...

Off the top of my head I think he has 22 individual stage wins.

Didn’t Armstrong strive to turn at 100 rpm’s? IIRC Ulrich usually drove a bigger gear on the mountains.
