Something to watch on the climb in addition to the main andy-Alberto battle:
Samuel Sanchez crashed hard early in the stage, and while still in the lead group has been grimacing and struggling on the other climbs.
Rabobank senses weakness and is pacing the peleton to set Denis Menchov up for a podium finish if he can crack Sanchez (which looks likely).

There’s a nice little kick up around 5-6K that might be a good spot for Schleck to give it a go.
To: commish
Good point, commish, the Sanchez-Menchov battle is yet another very interesting aspect of these final Stages.
Charteau can seal the polka-dot, too.

Announcers are saying to watch two spots — 13 kM to go and 8 KM to go — both start 8-9% straight climb areas that are Andy’s speciality.

SAxoBAnk has gone to the front of the Peleton and are really ramping up the pace. They are trying to spread everyone out for Schleck to attack.

Saxo Bank has 5 riders at the front and they are digging hard. the climb has just started and riders are being dropped off the back left and right already.

Schleck looks very smooth... Spartacus, aka Fabian Cancellara is on the front putting the hurt on everyone
To: commish
HMmm Interesting .. Lance Armstrong is right on Contador’s wheel and appears to be marking him.. Schleck is at the back of his Saxo Bank teammates and pulling hard.
Sastre has popped off the back.
Moreau has popped too!

Schleck looks really ‘hungry’ — he has the look in his eyes.

Contador has only one teammate left.. Schleck still has a couple with him. Plus the speculation is that others may help Andy.

At this point i think that may be overrated, commish.
Contador can climb with the best of them, help or no help.
