We’re supposed to get rain today. The whole family is moving very slowly after the weekend.

It’s clear this morning, but the dew points are up so I suspect more T-storms today. Mostly, they’ve stayed in the mountains.
Which is not much of a relief. I’m still sluggish and dull. Unnnghhh!

Of all things, I’ve been hit with a stroke of “organization” today. Specifically, my genealogy and related documents. *sigh*
It IS organized. It just isn’t organized in the same place. I seem to have gotten so doggone much of it in the last few years!
Maybe I need to make an inventory and put it all in one place. The mind boggles at the information available to me. And it would seem I’m always finding other documents to search for. Talk about OCD...

Maybe having a Project going (and expanding!) is what keeps you alive.

Maybe. No one else in the family is interested in doing it, but they all want the results, so I guess it’s up to me.
I even got Igor’s enlistment and discharge papers from his navy years. I’ll have to see if he has a birth certificate, though. I don’t recall if he was born at home or not.
In the lines of genealogy that I’ve been following the last two weeks (give or take a few days) Charlemagne seems to be the major paternal anchor. What a busy guy! (No. Wait. His wife(s) and/or concubine(s) were busy. He just seemed to visit with them periodically.)

Yeah, the whole Offspring thing can be pretty easy, on the male side.

Nah. I was speaking about a few other families I’ve run into over the years. The dad comes home long enough to impregnate the wife and is gone again. Or he is “there” but otherwise occupied when it comes to caring for the babies.

We have 111 outside right now, and if one stays in the shade, the breeze (about 9 mph) feels pretty good, even though the humidity is about 29%.
But I’m not going out again.
FYI: The Army Hero Grandson is safely ensconced in his humble abode somewhere near Ft. Lewis, WA. I haven’t gotten any direct messages from him but I was able, via facebook, to give him the thanks of all those who conveyed them. If I’ve forgotten to name anyone, just consider that you ARE included!

I contacted the local weatherman and got a chart for heat indexes. After I looked at it, I understood completely why old folks are dying in the heat. With a temp of 101, and the humidity of 90%, the heat index is 174.
For us, at 105 and 30%, we’re still “only” 114.
All kidding aside, “It’s a dry heat,” speaks volumes.
