Well, it’s a cover from a band nobody’s ever heard of. Good song, though.
Charleston looks nice, yes, although not as a non-rate. If I transfer before A-school, I’ll shoot for Key West or something. At least have a pleasant station where it isn’t cold all the time.
It’s been over a year, are you up for any promotion yet?
Much willful ignorance in the world can be explained by the concept "ignorance is bliss".
Primarily, they are ignorant of the more illuminating truth, "knowledge is power".
Well, I could make E-3, but that’s completely meaningless, so I’m in no hurry.
I didn’t say that. I merely scowled at them and stalked off to...take a nap, as far as I remember.
I need some prayers in Spanish for a young boy in Colombia who is quite ill. I will pray them and also send them to him. Can you help? (I did find a few online.)
Try to go easy on them. They could be your future minions.
Yes, I can find you some. I’ll go get my Spanish Bible after I change Frank. My choir people are coming over later (Mexican, Puerto Rican, and Salvadoran ;-), and I can ask our deacon tomorrow, too, for something excellent for the ill.
Our rrrod, from the NC Forum, is presently living in Colombia and is trying to get the Robinsons to create a Colombia message board.
You wouldn’t get paid more? Pay is good! I’ve got your bank statement here - I’ll FReepmail you the balances.
(Hedwig is the name of Harry Potter’s owl in the books.)
About 60 bucks more. Not worth the effort right now. I don’t have time to spend what I’ve got now.
It’s good to have rank. When we lived near Tinker AFB, I knew a woman whose husband was an E-4 after 16 years in the Air Force.
Morning!
Excellent. Please ask your choir people (and of course others in whatever language!) to pray for Jhon Dario, a darling little boy who has diabetes (always bad news) and arthritis (I am assuming juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, which is especially bad news).
Sure will!
” I tried to explain about Rasputin and so forth, but nobody would listen to me. Illiterates.”
Most of the probably took the basic educational requirements at a public school, in order to graduate. This means they learned next to nothing.
That it is!
Of course, we are into the monsoons, now, so we have nasty heat. 108 for today with about 30%.
Yesterday, when I went out to drop the last HP movie in the out-going box, one of my neighbors almost demanded that I take him to a phone company so he can get a landline. I told him there was no way I was going to drive in the heat.
I was having trouble breathing by then (humidity) and the A/C in the truck needs to be charged, so I keep my driving to a minimum, consolidating errands early in the mornings.
I don’t think he was very happy with me, but that’s his problem. I told him to call the phone company, as he has a cell phone, but he had an excuse as to why that wasn’t going to work.
My bad deed for the day, I guess.
Morning, sweetie!

I don’t know how it would be being in the USCG down there, but Charleston in general is a fantastic place...about eight months out of the year. In the summer, it’s Hell with 340 years of history and awesome architecture.
Seriously, though, Foxfire4 and I visited down there many times when we lived in Columbia, in fact we honeymooned (and I proposed) at her aunt’s condo near the beach on Kiawah Island. Friendly people if you know which bad neighborhoods to avoid, great beaches, cost of living isn’t too bad. Plus it’s beautiful and completely steeped in history.
And, hey, if you’re down there in 2014, you can help kick Lindsay Graham out of office. Bonus!
