I considered using squirrels as Borg-meat for implantable robots.

With computer technology growing smaller all the time, a “marriage” of computers and biology could produce mini-androids of very small size, but incredible capabilities.

We’ve seen “possessed” people in all manner of stories, most being the scary type that takes full possession.

That wasn’t my intent. I wanted the capabilities to be transmissible, but the personalities to be unique. So memories could continue, but the sense of loss on “death” would remain poignant and meaningful, even for the mini-androids I would call “squirts”, (squirrel-robots).

They would be crew members and maintenance techs on star ships, eventually helping to establish the colony at the end of the journey.

My thinking was that squirrels are farmers already. Put them into bib overalls and a straw hat and you can’t tell them from any other hayseed.

But stick a computer into their heads, and you have a multi-functional individual who’s already trained and capable.

Unfortunately, even good story background material still needs a decent plot, and that hasn’t materialized yet.

You never know. If you start writing, the plot might reveal itself to you.

Yes. My church had a noon barbeque, then there was another at 6:00 PM at a friends house.

I was in bed by 9:00 ;-)

Hope yours was good!

"If you start writing, the plot might reveal itself to you."

I've tried that. Too many times, I suppose.

I end up with far too many half-finished stories.

They get recycled eventually, though. I put them into other story-lines and nail them in place.

They're here already. I call them the Apple Collective.

I managed to drag myself to church, but we’ll be having our picnic on the evening of the 9th. Sort of a combination Ward Family Night, 4th of July Celebration and Pioneer Day celebration. (July 24 is Utah Statehood Day, aka Pioneer Day.)

My bed called me by 7:00, so I was dead to the world when the fireworks were set off.

Early this morning, I was up and out early, getting gear oil, motor oil and an oil filter so one of the church members can come and do the work for me. I could do it myself, but my jack stands are in storage (somewhere) and I need a metric wrench to get the fill plug out of the tranny.

How are you feeling these days?

How many calories do you burn just panting?

How many calories in water?

I don’t understand this map. It is not 101 in Houston, it’s 89 at my house.

Transmissable, through possibly a small friendly nip?
