I don’t think so - you’re over 18. We’ll bribe Bill or Tom - generously! - to stay with the little kids.

Plus, I’m, you know, in the Coast Guard.
Okay then.

Does the Coast Guard have a kayak division?
j/k I’ll tell your dad so he can make the reservations.

Actually, the station has a couple. And also buoy tenders carry one or two with them.

Believe it or not (cue wierd music) I made a fleece coat by hand a few years ago. It even had shoulder pads! (Not hand made!) And buttonholes! (Handmade, thanks to my mom who taught me all I know about hand sewing...) I have a deep appreciation for our seamstress ancestors!
Gads! I can’t believe James is old enough for SCOUTS!!!

Maybe next week, Miss Daisy will be running again, and I can do what I want when I want to.
My poor neighbor has been so generous to let me take her car, and I have felt so guilty...how dare I use the gas in her tank??? I top the tank off when I have the money, just to let her know I appreciate the loan.
With luck, I’ll get her a Walmart gift card to thank her for her tolerance and generosity. She’s such a sweet ol’ broad. Deaf as a post, but generous to a fault!

"I have a deep appreciation for our seamstress ancestors!" Exactly correct. Those who couldn't mend straight were unsuccessful as parents.

Well, at least the moms were. Dads were more interested in livestock and seeds.

My God! Did we talk for an hour? LOL!
That was fun. :-)
My Mom and I talk several times a week, and she loves it. I do too, but I guess she is more amazed that we can do this, than I am.

She’s got a lot of health problems, but she just keeps on trying. She still thinks she can do everything herself, but when I show up to help her, I can see the relief on her face.
She puts in two hours a day, two days a week at the little library we have here, which is how I got to meet her.
She’s a keeper, that one!

I won’t call you. ;-)

You and sion got to TALK???? What a bonus!!!
Are you still planning to come here this fall, sion? I hope Miss Daisy is up to the trip and that I can find a parking spot closer to your digs than the NW 40. (That’s the lot relegated to derelicts and ne’er-do-wells!)

An HOUR? Really?? But yes, it was fun.
Picked up a webcam today, but our Internet connection is down. Seems a storm in Louisiana knocked down the ISP's servers and a glitch coming back up prevented it from loading accounts. Their customers in 18 states are down.
All I have now is my cellphone tethered to the work laptop. Not fast but serviceable.
