I like the movies of the Sacketts, (Tom Selleck and Sam Eliot) but I just recently read “Comstock Lode,” and found it very heavy and a slow read.
Some days, it’s difficult for me to read, and on my worst days, reading is only half the battle...understanding what I’ve read is often elusive.
Thankfully, some stories are easier than others to read!

I just finished watching “Hidalgo” again, but this time on TV. I was pleased the movie wasn’t cut to shreds. Which only made me cry more...it was so good!
And now, because of my lack of stamina, I’m off to bed. Y’all take care, now!

Thanks!
Aside from the obvious poetic license, the science is accurate.
Numbers get really big when things get really tiny.

Well, sonar can create three dimensional images, so perhaps they have a way of ‘speaking’ a three dimensional shape?

G'night!
Finally sent off a note to a friend in Shiraz (Iran). The Internet is wonderful sometimes.

It’s not implausible to think so.
In analysis of most languages, we find that they consist to a large degree of ways to describe the surrounding environment. Consider the apocryphal allegation about how many words the Esquimaux have for “snow”.
Dolphins use their ability to produce sound two ways. We know they use echo-location to find their way and their prey.
It is also known that a sufficiently loud noise underwater is an effective “stun”. Cetaceans are both victim and perpetrator of this phenomenon.
It is surmised that dolphins have the ability to use their sonar as medical practitioners do to “see” through certain tissues. Some people think that we, when we are in the water, are somewhat transparent to the echo-location sense of dolphins. They even claim that dolphins can tell you the sex of your unborn baby. All you have to do is understand them.
And they do seem very friendly and willing to associate with us.
I think it’s fair to conclude that dolphins are echo-loquacious.

I was swimming with dolphins whispering imaginary numbers in the 4th dimension.

It is also known that a sufficiently loud noise underwater is an effective stun. True on land too. CA 1974 I experienced NASA wind-tunnel noise that in rather few seconds more (before I got out of it) would have rendered me insensate. Not a fun experience.
Sound can stun, and do much more.

I’m not a dolphin and only once was I wrong about the sex of an unborn baby. But these days, I don’t run in the same circles. Not much chance of pregnancy at my age!! ;o]

The worst noise I’ve experienced was at a drag strip, when the alcohol Funny Cars when down the track. Next time, I’ll use ear plugs. The sound was almost sickening from where I was sitting.

We’re up because all the small byos and petz were up.
